  :lol:You are probably one of those NSW people who say that the demonstration State of Origin in California counts too.

Huh?innsaneink said:Its like saying lets talk about apples but just dont say some are green.
Whatever. Want to talk about the topic?innsaneink said:Hes an immature bloke with a chip on his shoulder and this captaincy issue is just another example of that immaturity, IMO..
Bennett said the game, to say nothing of the prestige of the Australian captaincy, would be tarnished unless a decision was made now.
Check the thread, you're agreeing with me.innsaneink said:Whats the urgency in naming him now?....theres no games for the Roos for 6 bloody months.....
Tarnished....what rubbish!Bennett said the game, to say nothing of the prestige of the Australian captaincy, would be tarnished unless a decision was made now.
Yeah, thanks.innsaneink said:Is that better?
What part? His ego? His agendas? His arrogance?innsaneink said:Or do you wanna discuss Gould?
Red and Blue Knight said:Bennett knows that Johns will prove himself and show everyone he deserves the captaincy in the first weeks of the comp. This is why he wants a decision now, cause he knows that lockyers chances are very high with Johns still on the outer due to not having played in 9 months. When Johns returns in 2005 he will earn the captaincy back and bennett knows it. Bennett is the most biased peice of crap ever.
Broncodroid said:Lockyer has an enviable record as Australian captain.
8 Tests as captain
6 wins
1 Draw
1 Loss
- Won the Ashes 3-0 and was a standout on the 2003 tour from fullback
- Won the Tri-Series, though missing games, M.O.M. in final in which Australia won 44-4.
- Don't quote me, though Lockyer has at least 2 M.O.M.'s from 2004, and I 99% certain he has another 1 or 2 as captain for Australia (2004 ANZAC test? 1 at least from Ashes 2003)
Andrew Johns has captained Australia only twice after inheriting the job from Brad Fittler. On one ocassion vs GB (2002 win) and once against NZ in 2003 winning 48-6.
Stranger said:Put it this way... Johns is a better player when both fit..... no questions asked....
Everybody noticed how Lockyer dominated in the first half of the final.... well Joey does it every game for Newcastle and NSW and for AUS not just when its incrediabley urgent.
In my opinion... if johns is fit he should get it.
