But what do his injuries have to do with his leadership abilities?

Don't worry JM, Charlie just showed himself to be the person he really is by using very serious injuries as a way to knock a player.

He has no credibility at all now.

You want your captain to tell off your players if they're playing like sh*t. Lockyer did none of that when he should have.

If Johns isn't captain, Webcke should be the captain

Webcke would make a great captain.

So don't go on Mr Saab about my Knights bias. Lockyer is a great player, but a sh*t captain. Nothing against him, some players just don't have that.

Lockyer is a sh!t captain sure.
I would rather Lockyer captain than mr bargass who berates his fellow players. Johns thinks he is king sh!t and that every player should be at his "lofty standards".

It took them a whole series under Lockyer to reach their potential? What's with that?

And what series' of similar type and length has Andrew Johns captained that you can compare to Lockyer's captaincy?

Cheers.

Under Johns we smashed the Kiwis by a similar margin in the Anzac Test in 2003. It took him all of one game. They looked like well lead unit.

Next year, Lockyer leads them in the first Tri-Nations, and we hardly manage a draw.

Johns Magic, your memory is very selective.

The game you've mentioned was a one-off match, not a lengthly end of season series.

In addition, you don't seem to recall that Darren Lockyer also captained the Kangaroos for the ANZAC Test this year, where we also smashed the Kiwis.

Funny, Lockyer just happened to be MOM.

Cheers.

As a captain should

If the captain is satisified with mediocre performances, he'll get mediocre performances.

The 2 games Webcke has been captain he has berated his players. Lockyer should look what Webcke does.

Johns whenever he has led the team has been successful.

Lockyer???

And that's all you attend to use to compare someone who's had 16 Test matches as Australian Captain over 2 tours, to someone who's captained all of 2 mid-season matches?

Apples, Oranges.

Cheers.

Even that 3 match series against the Brits last year showed how Australia struggled, only just winning all 3 games on the bell. Australia should've dominated Britain that year, despite the injuries.

doesn't matter who gets the captaincy - but do you seriously believe australia would not have won the recent games with johns as captain?

And you seem to think the 3 tests against Britain last year is an adequate measure? Hilarious

nqboy why dont u add a poll!
How do I do that now? If I could, I would add two polls:
1) Do you think we should choose the Roos' skipper now? Yes/No
2) Who do you think should skipper the Roos if both are fully fit and firing? Locky/Joey

What's your point? I am addressing CS, who previously said that last year Lockyer was great on that tour, and hence a worthy captain.
Unfortunately you interpreted the situation incorrectly.

Try to read with more precision in the future.

Johns was the incumbent til injury intervened.

Lockyer was only made captain through luck.

Johns is still Australian captain!

and johns as captain would have changed all that would it?
australia had craig wing in the centres with phil bailey...we had crocker as a 5/8!!! The team was struggling as it is with a lack of talent.
Lockyer played a lone hand with Kimmorley.

Lockyer has now been captain 8 times and lost only once.

How many times has he won convincingly though, like Australia should almost every time it goes out on the field?

SFW?

That means he's one of the few recent captains to have lost a test match.

Congrats for him!

JW has a VALID VALID point.
Johns has captained the team on 2 occasions..mid season crap.
One was a match in 2002 when Australia played GB and won 64-10. Our players had just come off a tough Origin campaign and GB were jet lagged.
Lockyer led an UNDEFEATED ROO TOUR in 2003.
Lockyer has the been the leader of 2 over seas campaigns and had led his team as good as anyone

By the way, Charlie seems to think that Lockyer has captained Australia 8 times, yet JW maintains it is 16.

One of you is wrong, and needs to get their information correct.

EVERYONE loses sometime or another
