Well all the good times and entertainment he has given me are now gone. I'll be getting rid of my Benoit dvd very soon and have no time for this scumbag coward. Eddie will always be the true peoples champion and beloved technical wrestler. Nobody respects OJ's football feats anymore so why should anyone respect this guys wrestling feats. f**k him.

WWE.com has posted an updated timeline regarding the events leading up to discovering the bodies of Chris Benoit, his wife, and son.

- On Saturday afternoon, Chris Benoit contacted WWE and informed them that his wife and son were both ill and that he would have to miss his scheduled appearance at the WWE house show in Beaumont, TX that was set for that night.

- On Sunday morning, WWE rebooked Benoit's flight so that he could make the Vengeance PPV scheduled for that night.

- On Sunday, WWE tried to contact Benoit regarding his new travel information but could not reach him.

- Early Sunday morning, Benoit sent out the following text messages.

Text Message 1 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53am)- Chris Benoit's cell phone
"My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayetteville Georgia. 30215"

Text Message 2 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53am)- Chris Benoit's cell phone
"The dogs are in the enclosed pool area. Garage side door is open"

Text Message 3 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:54am)- Nancy Benoit's cell phone
"My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane.
Fayetteville Georgia. 30215"

Text Message 4 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:55am)- Nancy Benoit's cell phone
"My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane.
Fayetteville Georgia. 30215"

Text Message 5 to one co-worker (sent 6/24 at 3:58am)- Nancy Benoit's cell phone
"My address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayetteville Georgia. 30215"

- WWE on Sunday and made attempts to contact Benoit at his home and at local Atlanta area hospitals. By 11PM that night, they could not contact him.

- WWE was finally made aware of the text messages on Monday at 12:30PM and contacted the Fayetteville County Sheriff's office requesting they check on the Benoit family.

- WWE was notified at 4PM that officers had entered the Benoit house and found three dead bodies.

Note the physical address stuff. That's creepy. Both Daniel and Nancy were dead when he sent those SMSes, and he would be not long after. What the hell can make a man do something like that?

Chris Benoit is now an official scumbag.

I totally disagree with the fans who have the slightest respect for Benoit. Sure, he was a very good wrestler who was appreciated by fans. But, ANY good work he has ever done in his life has been TOTALLY erased and irrelevant.

I couldn't care if he if he solved the problem of world hunger. Him killing an innocent 7yo boy would erase that good deed forever.

I mean, think about it for a moment. He killed his 7yo son a day AFTER he killed his wife. He had a full day to contemplate what he just done. Yet, he still decided to kill his son the next day. Nothing can defend those actions.

WWE have done the right thing in trying to erase his name from the organisation.

Hall of famer my ass!!!!

That's your prerogative. While I feel nothing but disgust and sadness when I think about Benoit and his family's last few days - I've already stated in this thread that I won't allow my memory of a person to be defined by one incredible low in their life. I will never respect Chris Benoit the person - but I'll always respect Chris Benoit as the wrestler who produced countless hours of top shelf matches and always gave it his all in the ring.

I doubt we'll ever know what caused Benoit to 'snap' like he clearly did. Roid Rage can't be the answer given the premeditation involved in killing his wife and the way he placed bibles by their bodies. I still wouldn't be surprised if clinical depression wasn't somehow involved. As others have stated - Benoit's had a lot going on in the past few years. I'm not saying it excuses his actions, but I'm just intrigued by what takes a man described as a 'brother' and 'family man' and turns them into a killer.

I just want to make sure I get the point, physical address would mean the address where he was located at the time of the message right? As opposed to just the location of his house, so basically he wanted them to know he was there?

It is very scary. Maybe if one of the co-workers who got the message was up at that hour he might still be alive and we'd at least know why, or have an insight into his mentality.

You could be right. I read more into it by separating physical (the bodies) from the address of their souls.

Just checked the Foxtel planner for this arvo and Raw has been cancelled and it was definitely there when I checked last night. I also know for sure they got the episode in the UK so it has to be part of erasing Benoit from history. Absolutely tragic that it's come to this.

You should be able to find it for download somewhere, although it'd be difficult to watch given it's entirely tributes to Benoit and classic Benoit matches.

Now the details have been revealed you cant blame the WWE for what they've done. Benoit will forever be known as a murderer, so distancing themselves from him is understandable.

T-shirts and DVD's mentioning Benoit have been erased. So it looks like the name Chris Benoit will never be mentioned again in the WWE.

I just hope wwe erasing him history doesn't mean the matches he was in get deleted from future DVD releases.

What I mean is, I believe the WWE are planning on releasing a Summerslam boxed set at some point in the future. I hope this doesn't mean that Benoit's matches are not going to be on them. Especially Summerslam 2004. If so I won't be getting the set. I've the already purchased Wrestlemania and Rumble sets and had planned on getting the Summerslam one as well.

Sure it will be hard to watch a Benoit match without wondering how it all went so horribly wrong for him, but it's not the WWE's fault it happened.

Which leads to another point, the WWE superstars themselves will need some counciling I would think. A few of them would have to be wondering if their was something they could have done to avert this tragedy.

Our Lady Peace - the band that performed Chris Benoit's theme song "Whatever" posted this on their myspace blog.

So many questions

In 2000 Our Lady Peace was asked to write a song for a WWE wrestler. I admit to being heavily influenced by martial arts but entertainment wrestling was never my thing. I knew very little about the sport. Our drummer Jeremy was more the wrestling aficionado in the band. Nevertheless one night in Toronto we met with a professional wrestler for dinner at a local restaurant chain. His name was Chris Benoit. Immediately I was struck by his appearance. Not overly tall but freakishly muscular and wearing a very large neck brace. He had suffered a few herniated discs in his neck days before and was on hiatus until he had surgery and was able to rehab. Throughout the evening we learned about Chris and about the sport. Chris was a purest and came from a true wrestling background. His technical abilities were revered by all who followed him. Above that he seemed like a decent, nice man if not a little tortured. Nothing surprising coming from someone so dedicated to this absurd lifestyle of injuries, painkillers, steroids and constant travel. We ended up recording a theme song for him in Seattle during the next few months. We would see him a couple more times at various shows on tour in the US and he seemed pleased with the song we wrote for him.

Today I learned through numerous emails and Myspace comments that Chris Benoit had killed himself along with his 7 year old son and wife. I think back to that dinner we had years ago and struggle to come to grips with the fact that this was Chris' destiny. Assuming the authorities are correct in their assessment, I can't help but think Chris must have been in immeasurable pain both psychologically and physically. We may never know the answers to why this successful man ultimately was unable to handle this world and in no way do I personally absolve him of any guilt concerning the death of his son and wife. I guess I simply feel sad and somewhat shocked that someone I knew briefly had such a terrible and tragic ending to their life.

I assume that anything to do with Benoit will be erased including any future sales.

He is known as a child killer, so selling products associated with him will seem like they're profiting from the murders.

Also he has moves like the crossface and the suicide dive, considering what happend, its not the best thing to release his matches on DVD

Just a total shame that a wrestler like Benoit will be remembered like this. However I prefer to remember him as one of the very best entertainers the world has ever seen. He will be missed and I suggest everyone to remember the good times that Benoit gave us. He gave his all every night of the week. RIP Chris.

I agree. By doing that, I don't believe that condones what Benoit has done. Nothing can ever condone what he did obviously.

Something went horribly wrong in Benoit's mind, but that's not the way I want to remember him. I want to remember him when times were good, and always be left wondering just what the hell happened.

While it's true that what has happened shouldn't really tarnish what he has done in the ring it will just like what OJ did overshadowed what he did on the field and what Mike Tyson did overshadowed what he did in the ring (prior to the ear biting).

and while it's no where near as bad all of Warne's off field drama's have changed some peoples views on him on the field.

There is now no way that Benoit will get into the hall of fame and honestly he doesn't deserve it either, had he only taken his own life then despite the fact that I'd still consider him a coward for doing so I'd have no problems with him being in the hall of fame.

Not pointing the finger at anyone in particular because they know who they are but there are some people out there on the various wrestling boards/sites I've gone to that refuse to beleive the police reports or that Benoit did this regardless of how much evidence comes out that he did. To these people all I can say is that you are morons. I can understand that your hero has died and that you'll no longer see him perform and entertain you as he has in the past but get your head out of the sand and see who the real victims are here his wife, his child and the rest of his family.
