While Carr has returned the feel good factor with a couple of good solid wins, some fans calling for him to be appointed as head coach over an experienced coach i think is wrong. It also happened at Manchester United who I follow when Ole replaced Mourinho, had a few consecutive wins and the board appointed him and it turned out he had no idea and 3 years were wasted. The players seem to be responding to Carr and happy for him to stay as an assistant and learn his trade further and maybe take over from say Flanno in due course.

What do you mean by 'coaching parole'? Why would anybody take on the job on such a basis? Why would we appoint any coach on'parole'? What makes you think Flanno considers himself a 'demigod'?

Coaching Parole is where he can be Head Coach subject to monitoring and counselling. A regular check in to make sure his ethics and standards are where they should be in order to coach SGI.

You would appoint him on parole basis to allay members, fans, players, nrl, sponsors and other stakeholders concerns about his past and his complete indifference to the penalties he was under.

Penalties he was fully aware of and breached multiple times anyway.

Flannos said he would respond to Sgi only after they contacted him. Not good enough. No special treatment, his should have applied like anyone else, especially given his shady past.

Sounds to me …like he’s just a bit too keen on himself.

Mine is the path with a close eye on the DNA.

The coach must be beyond reproach. Too senior a position to risk, too much at stake.

What the actual f**k are you talking about?
I’ve heard some rubbish over the years but this stuff is pure dribble. Fair dinkum.

I was asked a question from @Mojo and I answered it. He’s likely to disagree, that doesn’t worry me, no problem.

If you don’t agree thats fine, you can argue the point instead of resorting to emotional abuse. I don’t fire off at your posts and demean them. How would you like it?

That said, I’m not the only poster here who is uncomfortable with Flannos past. Not the only one who thinks measures should be taken to ensure he’s actually changed.

The more extreme position is that he’s done his dash and should never coach again. That’s not my view.

Bellamy doesn't need a second chance; his first chance was never taken away.
You are right Mojo, If we are hesitant on Flanno because of his past, then we also tried to get Bellamy a few years ago with his past as well. Can we just sign Flanno up and get on with it, because we have other positions that need the right people as well, because without them it wont matter who the coach is.

Why would Flanagan accept moral and ethical lecturing from a board containing a leech like Doust?

There was an earlier post on here from a member suggesting Flanno might only get 2 years, that is ridiculous if its the case.I would go with 3 years with a 2 year option in the clubs favour based on performance. Anyone who thinks they can fix the Dragons, the club and pathways in 2 years are sitting in la la land. Wake up board and do the right thing!!!

Whoever the head coach is, its their choice what assistants they surround themselves with. Carr has done ok, great bloke but he doesnt automatically get guaranteed a spot next year. I will back whoever it is, hopefully flanno to pick who he wants as assistants and he shouldnt be made to feel bad for not having a spot for carr. He will get another gig either way. Looking forward to the future we are on the up thats for sure

Yeh Crawley is at it again having a dig at Flanno for calling Hunt. Don’t know what Crawleys go is but he sure has it hard for us. And this coming from a bloke who looks like he got into a brawl with a bar stool with the bar stool coming off second best

Okay, let's send lots of Love to Dean Young, good health, good life, happy life, go to Newcastle as Head Coach, I prefer Shane Flanagan and Ryan Car or Ben Hornby or John Morris as assistants!
See the problem here is everyone is trying to throw every good option for the Dragons under the bus, I had Sharks supporters tell me that Ryles was the dumbest player of all time, Why?
So that means every winger and prop forward are dumb and only players 1, 6, 7 and 9 make great coaches.
The same Shark supporter thought Craig Fitzgibbon rejected St George because we are not worthy, ok fair game whats happened to the Sharks recently?
JAMES Hooper thinks we are the Biggest Basket Case, so Ok, lets sign Shaun Wane!

I still reckon Hunt has a big say in what goes on. He and Flanagan have a chat and Flanagan says you will play half so Hunt goes back to the board or CEO and says I’m sweet with Flanagan as coach. Conversely if Flanagan said you are hooker Hunt would have put the kibosh on his appointment.

Ok lets get rid of Hunt and sign Luke Brooks!
