It is hooper writing this so I won't take this as gospel. IF it happens to be true, you'd suspect Ben Creagh could be the one resisting Flanno. He's great mates with Young and Hornby and would love to get them in there.. Jobs for the boys!

Bingo, great work by this parasite on the Eve of making Flanno HC!
If that was to happen and it was Creagh ( All speculation ) then he has lost the plot also .......It is hooper writing this so I won't take this as gospel. Phil Gould appears to have done an Olympic class backflip on the coaching future of Shane Flanagan.
On Friday he retweeted/endorsed an opinion piece in Nine Newspapers under the headline: “Why Shane Flanagan must never coach in the NRL again.”
In a scathing attack on Flanagan, columnist Darren Kane wrote it was inexplicable that the 2016 premiership winning coach would even be considered for the St George-Illawarra job.
He called on the NRL to block any deal between the Dragons and Flanagan.
This will not be happening. Independent commission chairman Peter V’landys confirmed over the weekend that Flanagan has served his time and paid for his mistakes.
Gould’s retweet of the story was a shock in that three years ago he gave your columnist a copy of a reference he sent to the independent commission in support of the 2016 premiership winning coach being allowed back to coaching.
Shane Flanagan (left) and the story from three years ago Phil Gould has backflipped on.
On Flanagan being caught communicating with the Sharks via emails during his suspension, Gould wrote in his reference: “I am having real trouble agreeing with the suggestion that this has been a ‘serious’ breach of NRL rules.
“I don’t see it as breaking NRL rules. I see it as being supportive and caring for the game, his club and his staff.
“I do not accept the notion that Mr Flanagan is not a fit and proper person.”
Gould does not return phone calls or text messages these days.
Why he has done such an about-face on Flanagan is a mystery.
It’s even harder to understand in that Flanagan’s son Kyle is a member of the Bulldogs’ top 30 squad.

No-one wants to see their boss involved in anything critical of their dad.
When Gould sacked Trent Barrett last year as Bulldogs coach, he made it clear from the very beginning that Flanagan would never be considered for the Canterbury job.
Eventually he landed the prized signature of Cameron Ciraldo.
St George-Illawarra however is a different story.
They appear certain to ignore the thoughts of Kane and Gould’s endorsement of his column.
We are expecting an announcement to be made this week that Flanagan will be appointed for three years.
Phil Gould’s retweet on a story about why Shane Flanagan should never coach again.
It is the right decision. This club needs an experienced hand.
They need someone with a track record of assembling strong squads from a position where the Dragons are at right now.
Saturday’s win over the Rabbitohs is proof the Dragons are in fact a decent football team.
That Anthony Griffin didn’t leave them in too bad a shape.
There is absolutely no reason to believe this club needs a Gus-style five-year-plan. Flanagan, with the right support staff, could lift them into finals contention next season. He is a proven winner
THIS IS THE GUS WHO SAID THAT MARY WAS OK IS IT NOT
Doust can be persuasive with Dragon money!
You speaka englesor or Muzzle Muzzle woof woof? How does a unanymous as opposed to a consenus board work? Do you cycle through the options until you find a candidate that all can agree on? No 3-2-1, no run off voting, no first ast the post? Maybe those against Flanno will vote for him if they get their guy as Head if Football or roster manager in a lower posotion. I am a big fan of Hair Clarke myself.
Gus needs to worry about his BulldogsOnce again , should it matter what Gus says !!!
Hey Mediterranean Descendant shaming. But go on, you do you.You speaka englesor or Muzzle Muzzle woof woof?
Exactly right BLM01, the longer this saga goes on the more these stories will appear. Can we just get on with it and make something happen.Gus needs to worry about his Bulldogs
I wonder how long it will take him to stick his bib in and try and help Ciraldo or pick the team for him
He is just dying to if asked..he is just dying to
Or will he lose patience mid next year and sack him like Trent
How much did they spend on players in the past 12 months.....and their name comes up with every 1/2 decent player that comes to market
Their lower grades are strong. Maybe they should stop looking outside the kennel.
Hooper says they will bauk because someone bought out a scathing article in the nick of time and the powerful Gus retweeted it. (surprise surprise). The media love making us out to be that shallow and fickle.Bingo, great work by this parasite on the Eve of making Flanno HC!
Instead of Oust Doust Banners, we should make banner MUZZLE HOOPS!
How are the Tigpies going you f**kwit?
Melbourne Salary Cap Cheaters don't have a problem with there sponsorship or there coach!Hooper says they will bauk because someone bought out a scathing article in the nick of time and the powerful Gus retweeted it. (surprise surprise). The media love making us out to be that shallow and fickle.
They dont do that with any other club
Buzz says they wont.
Believe what you want as it is all fish & chip paper (if you print the article out)
It wont be DY
But here is a thought. Canvass the sponsors for their opinion before they vote if they are that worried about Flanno..well the ones we have left anyway
And what happens if the 8 BOD cant agree on anyone. Keep Carr. Wont be the end of the world!..
Well, no club would offer the HC position to someone subject to conditions qualifying their distrust. Nobody would accept the role on that basis.
If I were Flanno I wouldn’t engage in an interview contest with a group of rookies. I think a ‘my record speaks for itself, take it or leave it’ is reasonable (not that I believe that is what he has done anyway.)
there was a last episode? When is the big announcement ? I haven’t been so damn excited since the last episode of ‘ Days of Our Lives ‘ !
Why would Flanagan need to engage in a interview contest, he took over a club that I thought were going to be extinct ( wishful thinking), 2010, uh the good ol days with immortal master coach, another long term dominance heading the Red V way, haha not to be, anyway the titanic sinks and Flanno throws the lamp into the sea, way way far from the Porch.
Even Hooper knows that Flanagan is the right man for the job
Sorry mate I always read your posts with interest but not sure of the continual push for Des didnt he FINALLY come out and say he wasnt interested in the Dragons HC role ? Maybe I have it wrong but that is what he said in an interview I saw.Only for the lamp to picked up by old Bruce in the Bahamas.
The old prick is worth $873m.
Surely financially, Sgi could could have Bellamy as a gear steward if you wanted.
All that might and power should be harnessed for one last shot at a real coach like Des.
Well that makes me very nervous he is a wally & generally gets it very wrong in his EXCLUSIVE reports.Even Hooper knows that Flanagan is the right man for the job
