The interesting thing for me is in the introduction of the assistant coaches Carr & Wolfe , they have been introduced as their roles attack & defence coaches. This really didn’t come out with previous AC’s particularly before Gentle & Head. Are they doing this to take heat off Hook?

Was the same with Elliot and Gentle in 2020. Elliot was announced as the attack coach and Gentle as defense. I'm pretty sure this is par for the course these days. I agree with most posts, the new blokes look decent.

Yes some interesting points by Woodsy but same old dribble, new staff new team stuff.
1. The previous assistants were outstanding and they learnt of them... but they were sacked and we certainly were not outstanding
2. Get our sh&% in order. Exactly what does that mean?
3. The old Maryism chestnut. Win 2 games we should of and we make the 8 that is how close we are?...ahh dont think so we can blow our trumpet on how close we got!

I wonder why Ryan Carr is not Brad's right hand man as he was last year when going so well.
Why did they not retain him like a Ciraldo at Penrith to get that 1st elusive premiership?
What are we missing here?. Did Parra want to let him go as they brought in Trent to work on attack and with halves?
Ryan is our attacking coach is he not?

Barrett has always been very highly rated as an ASSISTANT coach. I would have taken him at the Dragons as an AC in a instant.

All very interesting that the club has Woods and Mbye and Lomax talking up the club's players and coaching staff. There are guys who should be at the forefront of any media talks and they are Haran and Hook both of whom should be given the big H (Heave) sooner than later.

I can't recall anything coming out of the mouth of Hook for the past few months. Doesn't he have anything to say anymore? Has he been told not to say anything that would harm his defence? Surely by now he has some opinions on how the guys have been putting in and how the assistants have been helping out and bringing good stuff into the camp etc?

I suppose the less we hear from Hook the better, like he isn't part of the club.

I hope Griffin takes the Justin Langer approach and stays in the background while letting the real coaches actually coach.

I'd say Hook was given a clear indication he is holding the fort for Young a long time ago. The extension of his contract was just what the Dragons do when it comes to backroom deals.

I can't see any value in giving Dean Young the head coach job, surely this move would not make a positive difference to our ability to attract the right players.

It's funny how his head explodes though in coaching / TV press interviews etc

Although players love consistency I'm not sure his consistency of intensity is a good mix for our lot
