How would the rivalry against the Broncos rate? Would it be a ready made hate fuelled derby or more like that they have with the titans?
What would be, or are, Brothers colours?
As in there would be plenty of old BRL fans who don't support the Broncos who won't get behind the Brothers?Brothers bid would be the Manly of QLD
Navy and white butcher stripes.
already alot of blue/white jerseys in NRL. Maybe a green and white irregular hoop would be a good alternate? Maybe they good go really really navy blue so it looked more black ala Hull FC

Darwin Brothers
Brothers Rugby League Club was formed in 1958/59,a lot of the foundation members and players came from Wallabies RLC. Wallabies went on to record their fourth straight premiership however their dominance faded and Brothers soon became a force to be reckoned with. Many years later Brothers under the guidance of Frank "Doodles" Ahmat also won 4 premiersips in a row. This record was beaten by Litchfield in the late 90's when they won 5 in a row.
They are aligned with the Brothers Confraternity Australia wide.
Nick named the "Fighting Irishman" and wearing the traditional colors of dark blue & white horizontal stripes, these colors have remained unchanged since the inception of the club in 1958.
The club has produced many great players who have been brilliant rugby league players and outstanding sportsmen.
Frank Stokes a Brothers junior and senior player was recruited to Manly at the age of 16 and played in the then Sydney competition for many years only to return to Darwin and coach the Bretheren for several seasons and is still actively involved.
William "Nungah" Ahmat was the winner of the Darwin Rugby League Best and Fairest newly named the "Frank Johnson Medal" in 1973 followed by Ron Nobbs in 1975, Allan Bradbury in 1978, Peter Alley 1986, Karl Howard 1993 and Chris Cuthbertson 1994.
This is the best bid for SEQ, no question.
I liked Western Corridor, but it is clearly far too narrow in comparison to this.
The Brothers will be an epic success I have no doubt.
Doc, you get it right on so many things football related that it shocks me you could be so wrong about the term 'Queensland'.
It is a very poor branding tool that is far too broad and it heavily conflicts with the Origin side. Any RL footy team attempting to use will face a severe backlash because of this.
Besides, the 'Brothers' label is strong enough that they do not need to attach any geographical marker to it. It is ingrained into the psyche of footy followers in Queensland. But if they chose to do so, then Brisbane is a far better option.
Why do you think the Roar dropped Queensland? It was clumsy and awkward, and improper considering they never left the capital. The people of Townsville, Toowoomba, Rockhampton et al. will not fall for it. They will however have respect for 'Brothers', even if they are based in Brisbane.
But in this case you actually have a team that's said it's going to be playing home games outside of Brisbane.
I put the use of the term 'Queensland' on par with 'Auckland's rebranding as the 'New Zealand' Warriors and they've seen benefits as a result. The Kiwis haven't suffered because of that change.
I'd have no problem if they were simply Brisbane Brothers or South Queensland Brothers. More than anything though I just want to see them built into a club as bag as and to rival the Broncos in both size and ambition.
