Seymour would be a great buy for the warriors. Plus im sure he'll put in as hes shown in patches he can do, knowing for sure that this is his last chance at at NRL career. Hes only 24 as well but hes been around for a while now.

what exciting kiwi half were you hoping we were going to sign?

who said anything about young kiwi halves ?

Once again the Warriors have maintained their famous tradition of signing cheap players with issues..

Are we a f**king footy club or a social centre for peeps with probs ??

Right ozzy, and who were the other options?

We have tried luring a number of high profile players over the ditch in the past 2 years - hasnt worked.

So ... we go for a guy with some potential, who isnt going to get a go at other clubs because of his offield past. worth a shot.

sh*t if we were looking for the next dickhead who is sure to c**k up again we should have instead pursued Taumata, 1. he's got the attacking goods(as we seen in wiki's last game when he wa up against Benji) and 2. he's a kiwi.

yea, agree to a point, but are we babysitters, does pricey put the hard word on him, do they concentrate on keeping him on the straight and narrow, wrap him in cotten wool.

the guy has form, it could even appear he has a particular problem with certain beveredges and from my own experience, it doesnt work by saying "I wont do it again".

So we sign the guy and something happens midway/ towards the end of the season and what does the club do ?

we have a 'no dickheads' policy, this chap has a phd in dickheadedness...

Bret Seymor maybe an average signing for the club... time will tell.. if it gets signed and dusted.

I cant see why they just cant keep Jones on for another year, develop Isaac John furhter and then wait for S.Johnston to be ready to make the move up...

In mean time why not just keep Stace on for another season and not take the risk of having a penalty for a drunken mishap by a player who has slipped up a few times already.

My mother always tells me 'do things the same and you'll always get the same result'. That would be my argument against Stacey.

My reasoning, and it's not something the Warriors would probably buy into, is that winning a Premiership will become a lot harder once Pricey leaves. It looks likely he'll retire after next year so 2010 is a huge year, for mine. And I don't think a Stacey/John halves combo is the right fit, so I'm happy to look to Seymour. No he's not a messiah, but in my opinion he's better than what we've got.

We should go after Julian O'Neil's signature- he meets both of our recruitment criteria. He's at least a decade beyond his best and has major issues off the field

Are you serious??? I think everyone on both sides of the ditch would say it's fair time for him to hang up the boots for good... The club needs to go forward, and not dwell on the past; especially Jones' past.

Gidday mate, trust you had a great time up on the Gold Coast. Pity about the result!

I don't think the Warriors have a tradition, at least a recent tradition, of signing cheap players 'with issues'. Sure, cheap players, but issues? Perhaps you're referring to injuries? The Warriors have shown major angst in signing players with issues that don't relate to injuries, and have shunted those players within the club with personal demons along for the sake of club culture. I'd say Seymour falls into the off field saga drama litany, and our ethos has been very much to steer clear of any of that sort of stuff.

Am I right in remembering Scurrah/Cleary came in in 2006?? Since they've been there we've brought in the following outsiders: McKinnon (no off field issues that I was aware of), Crockett (they developed when he came and he was acquitted anyhow), Witt (no issues), Kirk (no issues), Tate (no issues), Henderson (no issues), Shortland (no issues), Kemp (no issues), Moon (no issues), Lilyman (no issues), Royal (no issues), Brown (no issues), Heremaia (no issues). Taulapapa and Faumuina have been sent on their merry ways in between times.

It seems to me, unless I'm missing something, that as far as personal issues go Brett Seymour would be the first bloke they've taken a punt on.
