A magnificent achievement by the North Sydney Bears in winning on Sunday afternoon and advancing to the Grand Final against Parramatta.
The match was played with about 4,000 people in attendance and they created a great atmosphere.
Given the lack of any official recognition of the Bears or any practical support in keeping league alive on the north side of Sydney up to the Central Coast the Bears are to be greatly admired in fighting for their survival, and fighting very effectively.
Well done!

Let's hope they give the Eels a touch-up and send the Peach out on the note he deserves!

Great to see a team choc full of young Souths juniors like Yileen Gordon, Troy Boston, Beau Champion, Shannan McPherson, Eddy Pettybourne, Joe Falemaka and Eddie Paea make it through to Grand Final day.

The two Eddie P's in particular were standouts. The break by Eddie Paea to set up the match winner was, 'scuse the French, f**king brilliant. These two have a bright future in the Red & Green.

Was also great to see everyone run onto the field after the match.

Here's hoping the Peach gets the finale he deserves.

I'll be there cheering them on for sure. Even if they are aligned with the mixos. It'd be a great night for League in the Northern Suburbs if the Bears could bring home the NSWRL and Manly the NRL.

The NRL shoulda put a double header of PL on before the Cow V Eagles game. Woulda got more people to the game and given the players a bigger crowd/atmosphere to play in front of

Absolutely Loving it!!!!

It's been Hard knock after hard knock but you can't kill spirit and pride. We still have got to win it yet. Hopefully the boys fire up on the day.

Its definitely gonna be the best day for the North shore up to Central Coast for Rugby League in years this sunday.

The bears are undoubtedly one of the greatest clubs in the league.

Their recent success is due in no small part to the massive injection of quality players courtesy of Souths. In return, the bears have provided careful stewardship and care of same.

A fringe player for the bears at the start of the season could easily find himself in front of 32 thousand fans in a game at the back end.

Like the jets last year, the bears success shows that the traditional clubs are the backbone of this game and we ignore them at our peril.

Congratulations to our brothers, the North Sydney Bears.

The league turns its lonely eyes to you.

Onya Girvie, really happy for you...and David Peachey.

"Here come the Bears, the Big Black Bears"
I loved hearing that being played over the loudspeaker at NS Oval.
Some of my favourite Bears..Ross Warner, Lloyd Weier, Denis Cubis, Fred Griffiths, John Gudgeon, Ken Irvine, Don McKinnon...Blue Wilson and even Roy Fisher. How about coach Roy Francis!!!! Greg Florimo....
I do hope the Eels win and make it three in a row, but it will be an emotional day for your boys, especially in light of the passing of Frank Hyde..

A calvalcade of stars.

Chris Caruana, Billy Moore, David Fairleigh, John Gray, Les Kiss, Steve Martin, Mario Fenech...

They can hold their heads up high.

The mighty bears are back on the road again.
