The season is done. The fork is in and it's over. The landscape will be different for sure when the dust settles. If the players truly love playing the game they will play for a Meapro ham and $200 for a win. If they don't they can look elsewhere.

As long as we can have a 15 game season where everyone plays each other once it should be reasonably legit. Ch9 seem the biggest impediment to that unless we can kick off soon.

All players kept in a bubble, all play in the same empty stadium.

Might actually be the fairest comp in 100 years.

Pfft, everyone is getting too worked up about a “unfair” season...

No season is fair and there is definitely and element of luck for the Premiers every year.

As long as we get a that genuinely separates the best 4 and has them in at the end, it doesnt matter if the season is 24 rounds or 10...

May turn outvti5 be the most genuinely fair draw we've ever seen - play every other side once.

Bring it on.

The more I think about it the more this bubble/confinement idea is ridiculous.

That’s kinda how mental health issues start. Maybe it’s alright for the younger lads who live with their team mates, but anyone with a family and this becomes a nightmare.

They do 6+ weeks tours to England without much fuss.......

But anyways. Just tell the guys that they dont need to be involved if they dont want to, but their wages will be kept on the cut rates si ce they aren’t contributing.

Fans will eat up WHATEVER is available and some you g lads will get a good run.

This season will have that astricks anyway, so who gives a shit if we’re missing some older blones.

FMD...merkins want $$$, earn em.

Otherwise, they can dig ditches.

If Grandaddy Cam has a problem, retire.

100s of thousands of ordinary Aussies work hard to make ends meet, doing shifts, FIFO, defending and supporting our blessed way of life and these merkins want to whinge?!? Tread warily boys. Last time money was a big thing in league, the crowds petered out and a third of clubs were culled.

I'm sure they could do a rotation type stuff for players to come in and out of a squad for Mental Health so they can take some time to see the family, etc. And not all players would be as affected, so some would just see it as an opportunity to get more game time. While others like Smith who is near the end of his time, might think that playing 3 and taking 2 weeks out of the bubble would be preferable. Either way, I think you will see a lot of fringe players getting more game time as they are the ones most likely to benefit from all this.

Soldiers, sailors etc all manage it.

I'm one of thousands of Aussie expats living overseas who hasn't been home to see my family in 6+ months & aren't likely to until all this is over. It's not ideal but it's not that bloody bad.

There's about 25 000 Filipino maids in Singapore who manage it.

For a few months, any NRL player interested can manage it. The rest can sit at home.

That would defeat the purpose of having the players isolated in one location if you give them permission to come and go.

To be honest, this whole plan has a lot of issues. The Chinese Basketball Association attempted to restart their season in two locations, planning to be constantly taking players temperature, but the government rejected this.

If the NRL were to do this, they would need to ensure they were effectively testing players daily - this would be a massive drain on testing kits available for the public, cost the league a lot of money, and could ultimately open themselves up for legal action should an outbreak occur.
