It saddens me that son of Ivan is that stupid. He had a chance, growing up in the superior education structure in New Zealand, but unfortunately we forced his Dad out and it looks like his brain has turned to mush since.

I'm not sure how dumb you can be on as many levels as he was. A) for doing that god awful Tik Tok, although in his weak defence his smaller brain may have been calling the shots on that one. B) for lying, when he would have clearly known the evidence was out there that they didn't call around for 10 minutes, and he did know the footage was being taken. C) for saying he didn't tell them 'because they didn't ask'.

The NRL will have to go harder on him now, for blatant lying.

That's is because we have put systems in place to deal with it, social distancing will be in place for a long time though. Defend Cleary all you like but the fact his father is high risk makes his behaviour a lot worse, I understand people not caring about strangers, but this idiot put his own family member who is high risk in jeopardy. What a goose!

Where did I say Cleary was not in the wrong? He did a dumb thing and was punished for it BUT just being around someone doesn’t mean you will catch it for sure. That is all I am saying

To the people that think social distancing and the rules based on it are impractical, you need to take a step back and realise that you are not the most informed in this field. This is a forum so it's easy to get lost in the anonymity and the character you've created on here. And if you want to troll. Cool. Good for you. Enjoy being a child.

But, if you believe the bull that you're sprouting, you truly are foolish. Doctors, scientists, pandemic experts, etc, are the people that have pushed for these measures. If you are so arrogant to think that you know better than these, don't breed.

I tried posting this as a gif, but the 1MB limit that this site puts on uploads is quite restrictive.

Go to this link and see how it can and will work.

I agree, but unfortunately we live in an age where everyone believes their voice needs to be heard. And that their voice is important, and well informed. The age of social media and algorithms where people are fed things that reinforce their own viewpoints, which only makes the problem worse. Hey look, so many people agree with me! I can't find anyone who doesn't!!! So I must be right!

I don't mind sharing my opinions and views about rugby league. Hell, I'll probably even argue them quite strongly as right or wrong, I believe I know a lot about the game having followed it and covered it through work for many years. But I'm not an epidemiologist and I sure as shit wouldn't claim to know better than medical professionals and experts making decisions at the present moment. I might hold an opinion, but I'm wise enough to know that I am not privy to the amount of facts and knowledge these people have, therefore trying to deride their work and believe I know better is foolishness of the highest order.

So sorry to hear that mate, facing something similar coming up soon, one of my sister in laws goes into the hospice tomorrow and it will only be a matter of time now till she is gone, have agreed though that when she goes it will be only her ex husband and daughter will be there for a small funeral, maybe one brother also but all agreed that on the anniversary of the date of when it happens as long as it is ok by then there will be a proper service where all relatives and friends can attend. We did a video phone hook up with her today which was virtually a goodbye.
It's absolutely f**ked. My mum's sister promised her she'd be there at the end, but couldn't because of these restrictions.

We're doing the same, going to hold a memorial for all her friends and family and place her ashes in her final resting place once all this is over

Cmon dude. Of course being around someone doesn't mean you'll catch it. But it's certainly higher than if you aren't around someone. Ask Italy.

Now we're getting the 'the death rate is less than the common flu' idiots on social media, who might have sooner we did nothing about and kill off millions of people to justify the seriousness of the virus. It's a weird human phenomenon. I remember a cyclone a couple of years ago that was forecast to rip down the east coast of NZ, and to cause big damage. People sheltered inside, escaped to higher ground if they were down at sea level etc. There was a civil defence warning, alerts went out etc. And nothing happened, it fizzled out. And the amount of idiots who were angry that nothing happened was quite amazing. 'We went to all that trouble and nothing happened!' Truly weird. This thing is similar. Look, nothing is particularly happening! Why are we doing this!

Haha, the f*ck??

Just because C9 is usually shit doesnt mean that EVERYTHING that they want is bad for RL. (Im surprised that even needs to be explained)

Like i said, Origin will sell out regardless of the day and Wednesday will get bigger tv audiences. For what possible reason would Saturday be the better choice?

Exactly.

Thinking like a Ch 9 CEO.

In those cases you get locked down
Here you go to work/school, supermarkets, Hardware stores, get takeout etc... that is where the confusion comes in

Why would you even risk it if your own father is in a high risk category?

They weren’t strangers though. He knew them very likely they had alteady been in contact with other family members. Hence seen as safe the is where education comes into it
Legally was fine according to the police it only is an issue due to playing footy

How would he know they don't have covid? The rule isn't don't gather with strangers, what he did was a risk, do not say that it wasn't. If we all went around doing what ever we wanted we would be in a similar position as those overseas.

Penrith fans always defend their team to the maximum, even when they are in the wrong, this though is ridiculous. He should have been suspended for a month.

He wouldn't know a thing about where they've been, who they've been in contact with etc.

And no, legally it isn't fine. The cops didn't pursue it further with him because he was in his own home, it was them who were in the wrong place. Although that does beg the question of whether an NRL player is strong enough to close a door on people who want to walk through it.

Never knew that. What a guy. I'd say Nathan must be adopted based on his level of intellect, but the genetic signs don't do me any favours.
Effects on the kidneys due to covid 19 is still being determined and some research shows effects and some show no effects, but why would you risk it when a close family member falls into that category? Ivan seems to be very family orientated so his move to donate to his brother doesn't surprise me. Seems though is son doesn't have much regard for the risk his father's generosity has put him in.
