There's a few players running around who can't catch anything so they should be pretty safe.then again teams have been playing Souffs for years probably at risk of catching far worse ..

What it does is it prevents the flu from compromising your immune system which makes you more susceptible to covid 19, so it helps you fight covid 19.Does the flu shot protect you from the flu ..NO.. only against 4 strains and even then you can still get it .
I got the flu shot as MY CHOICE but I really don’t think they should be forced. The only unique situation for them is that their employer is trying to start up business again before everyonand this was apart of their measures to get government approval .
The players have individual rights not to have the jab , do you want your rights taken away for the “greater good “ ie
~ mandatory to have app to go anywhere including supermarket
~ have to carry around a “immunity” passport for this virus or the next big virus to come around otherwise denied the right to work or even purchase essential goods
at what stage does it become enough is enough. Does the flu shot stop the spread of covid or protect you from it. Does the flu shot protect you from the flu ..NO.. only against 4 strains and even then you can still get it .
Is the flu even widespread this year considering we’ve been in lockdowns and overseas tourists have now been blocked
Whilst they are tools for not having it , as it’s not law they should have choice not to get it
They're not being forced to have it. Any player who doesnt want it doesnt have to go get it.
What they do have to do is sign a document agreeing that they've been made aware of the risks of not having the shot by their employer and thus they are assuming that risk and ultimately protecting the league from litigation if one of these players contracted COVID19 during the course of play/training and got very ill/died from it.
That's all this is for the NRL. They want everyone to have to shot so if something goes wrong they can say they took all reasonable steps to ensure safety and for those who choose not to have it, they were made aware of the risks and willingly assumed them.
Peter Dutton, Chief medical officer in QLD and the NSW premier all said that the health plan put forward by the NRL said that all players would have the flu vaccination. Sounds like the waivers wont be enough.
Well that is on the NRL for promising something that they couldn't possibly guarantee to deliver.
They should have just said "we will strongly encourage them to get the shot and ask them to sign a waiver if they don't.
They will still probably get 90% uptake,

It may be on the NRL, but if the government stay firm in this stance then those players will not be playing.
Everyone has been mainly hammering them for not getting the shots , and government response has been about them not having the shots , not amendments to waiver
They will be playing
APS workers don't require the flu shot to be in the office.
The flu shots contain the vaccines that experts predict will most likely have an impact on Australia each year, sometimes they get it wrong but most of the time that are fairly accurate.Against 4 New flu strains only and considering borders shut and lockdowns, any flu going around which would be unlikely given lockdowns and social distancing would have a good chance of being the other strains it doesn’t protect against

Careful what you wish on others, lest the begging bowl be bequeathed to you.Putting aside the f**king dumb as dogshit vaccination debate, that wankers like @AnonymousLurker are trying to turn into some crazed internet bullshit.
Certain sections of the players, really seem to be going out of there way to f**k this up for everyone.
I wont take any solace when reading the "Where are they Now?" article in 2023 about Bryce Cartwright working on a shovel for the local Council bemoaning the fact he listened to his now divorced wife.
