Craig Young and personal reference for Finch

This is a matter for the NRL integrity unit.
That is the point he used the Stgeorge letter head & signed it as the Stgeorge chairman.
Without knowledge or permission.
So our board of directors are answerable to the NRL are they?

FMD by all means dislike Albert and by all means ask for him to be removed but at least work out who to ask.

You ignored me, so I'm guessing you agree that the NRL does not have any power to terminate him?

Just so you know, when Parra's board members were removed, they were removed from the board of Parramatta Leagues by the Liquor and Gaming Authority. As they weren't directors of the leagues club, they couldn't be directors of the football club.

The various football clubs are legal entities governed by the corps act, and their appointment and removal of directors is determined by their constitution. The NRL integrity unit has no power.

Albert is a self serving parasite & thought he could add the Stgeorge weight behind his personal reference. To convicted criminal.Without club permission to do so.
He must be terminated by the NRL.....for bringing the game into disrepute. Period.
Character references in itself is not a crime and are sought by defence lawyers vigorously from whoever higher profile person they can get. JDB was given them by our club prior to his case determination. No one is supporting the hideous crimes Finchy is charged with.

Just a question, now that St George got involved and advised that they did not endorse Albert’s letter. Does the letter get withdrawn and does Albert have to write up another letter on his typewriter?

The NRL owns the license with is held by the Club. The NRL could deem that the game has been brought into disrepute and suggest the chairman be removed or the license be returned.

His lawyer is going to have to withdraw the reference if it’s been tendered or clarify that it is not written on behalf of the club.

That’s not a good look for Finch’s legal team as it’s only going to remind the judge how poorly the community considers these types of crimes.

So it’s backfired pretty badly for Young and Bretts old man.

He could have written a personal reference and didn’t need to appropriate the clubs style and logo.

A selfish venture that has ended badly.

If this wasn’t blessed by the board, I think he should call it a day with the club. At least for awhile. It can’t go unpunished.

Whatever you do with him, is a matter for you.

Finch’s argument is that drugs turned him into a pedo. That’s a tough argument. I would have thought a lot of druggies despise pedos as much as the rest of us do.

As I have asked of others please explain how he has brought the game into disrepute?

People keep banging on about it but not willing to say how a character reference on a letterhead would differ to a character reference on A4 paper.

Who knows if anyone else wrote references for Finch and if they d so would those references bring the game into disrepute?

People like you are grasping at straws in an effort to get rid of Albert for his gross error of judgement.

If the NRL didn't remove franchises for blatant Salary Cap infringements some which were repetitive then why the f**k would they intervene here?

Pinching the letter head, and using it to try and to deceive . There go O.T. That's exactly
what Albert did and now he'll
have to pay the price. You wanker.

This guy must have me on ignore. He continually suggests the nrl has any power, but won't respond with what it is

Sounds right to me .Come on NRL put Graig Young on notice.

Again I ask, what power do you think the NRL has to remove a director of a completely separate company?

Your refusal to answer indicates you know they don't have any power.

The shame and disgust felt by Dragons fans would be nothing compared to that of the Young family.

Especially that of Dean, living in a small NRL mad city. Very little anonymity for him going about his normal life.

At the very least, Craig will have a prized seat at the Finch family table on Christmas day.

I also feel for the friends and family of Brett. Who would be racking there brains, thinking was he left alone with there children at get togethers. Absolute nightmare for all concerned.

It's unlikely there's anything the NRL can do about the Chairman of one of it's clubs.

Young's actions do however contribute to the negative image of the NRL amongst the general population. Every year there's domestic and sexual assault charges against players along with various acts of stupidity. NRL players and the NRL in general are often held up as the punchline for neanderthal behaviour.

Now we have the Chairman of our club using his position to support someone convicted on child abuse charges. There's no question that by signing off as the Chairman of St George Illawarra and using the club's letterhead he was trying to use this position to exert influence.

Regardless of what the NRL can actually do, the club itself has a responsibility to remove him from the board.

So in your fairy land that now means that the NRL by not removing Albert have doubled down on bringing the game into disrepute.

Maybe you should now approach the ARL to sack the NRL for not sacking Albert.

If we had of been travelling top 4 and just signed Bellamy and a few star players I wonder what the cry out would be then?
