So when is he appointed, Tony?
We can't afford a top CEO because we're paying Morts too much.
You guys are kidding yourself if you think someone like Cayless or Zappia are suitable replacements. You already have a disfunctional, unprofessional if not incompentent board, the last thing you need is someone "wet behind the ears" or of the "inner circle" as either of these two persons would be.
A proper search for, and then appointment of an experienced business CEO is what is required, like the Bulldogs, Broncos or Storm did with their most recent changes at the top. Any NRL club today needs quality, experienced professional leadership from the top down to earn success in all areas of thier business, including on the field (which in part is a result of the management off it).
A long term proven successful businessman has already resigned from your board as a direct reflection of the mess the joint is in.
Is this likely to happen?
No. Too much self agenda and interest from those already in power.

As a random thought, Zappia would be an ideal football manager, dont know where that puts Peter Nolan given his current roles.
He was very good at that previously and had a great rapport with player managers, then a CEO could concentrate on all the admin from sponsors to media
The guy is far from an amateur ! The position we are talking about is CEO and he has been a CEO. Have you even met him or spoken with him about what he is doing for the club ? I have and I am impressed by his responses. Can you tell us all what specific roles pertaining to the sports administration of our club YOU GUESS he would be inept in ?
He would have nothing to do with coaching, recruitment, player management etc. As CEO he would be solely responsible for the business management side of our club, including marketing, media, memberships, game day logistics, finances and general administration. One would hope that he had very little to do with the team other than providing support in the form of organising logistics and the provision of resources required for them to do their job.
You have made quite a broad statement so if you can be more specific you may enlighten me on what I might be missing.
As Jack Gibson once said, dont worry about what Eels Dude says , he would boo Santa Claus
While I wait for the usual response, he is one of the most negatiove posters I see, would even complain if we signed someone lke Cam Smith. Tony, he does it deliberately to get a reacion, ignore him, he has had a dig at all the people on here that have a positive opinion, from Stagger to Jodeci.,
I don't know anything about the bloke but when it comes to the point where we have forum members such as yourself pushing who they think would make the best CEO for the club then I think that's a bit of a joke. There are powers at be who should be in control of such a situation and they don't need outsiders coming in and telling them who they should hire for what is the most important role in the entire club, the CEO.
I don't know what bold statement I've made. We should be going all out for a CEO who has experience with a senior administration role in the sporting sector, what's so bold about that?
On your characteristics of CEO... the least they deal with the media the better. Both Ozzy and Fitzy have dealt with the media too much it's blown up in their face. They're best sticking to being behind the scenes. The CEO is the head of the whole organisation and there's a lot of experience and tough decisions that come with it. You're making it seem like a much smaller job than it actually is.
Grant Mayer would have been perfect for this club a couple of years back but the board head hunted osbourne & now the rest is history. Seems like the duncan was right all along & the board spun there doctoring again to make out we had a massive sponsor waiting if they left
