I can throw in a fruit basket if that'll help, Stagger.

Hell I can make that a fruit basket every week of the year that he is signed for Parra.

Cronk should think long and hard before he knocks back an offer like that.
Mate after an offer like that how can he refuse????

Seriously if he says no to that then he isn't worth our time.

I'll have to make sure that the baskets fit under the celery cap though.

Though we have the leading expert on that matter right here on our forums, should I need help.

If that is the case then I can send a box of celery to the Storm to help put pressure on their cap.

Alteratively I can send a box of any apple barring a granny smith, so the sour pusses down south can get a little bit sweeter.

Maybe the hold up is guaging Inglis' long term commitment to the Storm. It would be stupid to let Cronk and Inglis still leaves when his current contract is up anyway.

regardless of the Inglis situation I don't expect Melbourne to move on Cronk, there is no way possible that your club will give a rival club likeus any leeway with one of their marquee players.

this is why i've always been hesitant about pesuing him, convincing him to come isn't a problem at all it's convincing Melbourne to release to us.

Inglis has no long term commitment to the Storm. Show him the money and he's gone. :D

Well Melbourne have to get off there high horse and understand they need to be under the cap next year. The storm need to shed stars and need to do so as soon as possible to clear there name and start preparing next year.

Ps, Did Cronk really come and look at Parra's facilities during the week?

Cheers.

to be fair and reasonable, cronk is Melbournes property and if they choose to get under the ca around him than they have every right to do so..

I understand he was here this week yes, it's quite normal for players to oversee the facilities of any prospective place of employment it certainly doesn't mean that will agree to come though..

I see your point but they have kept him illegally. Cronk and his management need to really push forward with gaining a release if he is keen to come to Parra because im sure Parra's offer will only stand for a little wile as we need to complete our roster for next year.

If Osbourne, Managment and DA pull-off the signing of Cronk it will be amazing.

at least he is being pro-active cronk, melb seem to keeping the players out of the loop a bit in all this, it is their future as well as the clubs. wouldn't be surprised if more players ask for release.

Sure has come along way since Cronk was supposedly cranky at the direspectful, hurtful and untruthful rumours of him linking with us.

If we are offering to buy out the entirety of his contract with the Storm, they (the Storm) should at least give pause to the thought of it. It means they have a chance of keeping Smith, Slater and Inglis together.

Was told tonight we are very close to pulling it off.The Cronk deal i mean.

Two things. No, sorry, three things:

1. I hope you`re not close to pulling it off, Gustarny - not on a public forum, anyway.
2. If we get Cronk (who I think is a very good half) I hope we don`t pay overs for him. At least not too much anyway.
3. I am very happy with the form of Jeff Robson at half. I realise he is not our future (unless we bought a high profile five-eight instead of a half) but his game has improved heaps.

I'll throw in 10% discount card to my shop if that helps cronk.

Both of these offers would be considered enticements to sign with the Club and as such would need to be declared under contract to the NRL.

Honestly, I can't believe that people on this forum are putting forth offers like this to sign - of all people - a Melbourne Storm player.

It is hypocrisy of the highest order.

I thought third party sponsorship doesn't count against the cap if the club isn't involved in the process of linking a player to a business/product/company?

I assure that myself and my fruit baskets are in no way affiliated with the Parramatta Eels.

Parra NEED a half back and a good one. Cronk fits the bill and good halfbacks dont come up often or cheap. If we have to pay overs to get him then I think we have to bite the bullet and do it. We have the pieces to put around him.
