The Newcastle Herald reported it is a cracked Scaphoid bone, and a screw will be inserted on Friday during surgery.

Ben Cross is the one who stated 4-6 weeks, but then again maybe he is being a tad optimistic.
that seems wierd to me - but maybe he will be able to weight bare and not miss much training with a screw holding it together - scaphoid is not one of the major arm bones just a little one in the wrist.

Roopy on the case as per usual ;-)

As for Cross, its a blow for the start of the comp, but I'd prefer him missing the first 3 or 4 weeks when (generally) all teams are struggling for consistency rather than the middle of the season.

Spot on Roopy.

Take a deep breath forum...

Given the current diagnosis, he will be out for the first three games.

Six weeks s generally worse case for this type of injury, so it may be less.

In regards to the Med staff missing it, Cross said it was barely a sprain on the day. He has done full contact and wrestle with it consistently since. It would be unlikely for any Club to take it further on that type of info.

The props we have on deck from last year, are different foot soldiers these days.

Royal was likely ahead of Sarg for the prop position. Tolar has been playing well and White was good against the Warriors. Rich was outstanding.

We have some depth, and some ability to cover this significant loss.

Its not a great start, but it should only be three rounds at the most. I have faith in any combination of Royal, Rich, Tolar, Wicks and Tafua for the first three rounds.

We are, despite your insistence on being out fo the loop for most things, we're still afforded more knowledge than we get from the press.

Due to you having a man crush on him or otherwise, Taufua's progress is one of a few things like that.

The wisdom of Smith's recruitment becomes apparent before the season even kicks off. We have plenty of decent players to cover this. Wicks may even get a start I reckon. Wicksy should use this as his chance to lay his claims as a starter. If he doesn't then he is a goose. Sarge and Wicks is hell of a lot better alternative than those overrated and overpayed drips Perry and Woolnough. As Matt Johns said last year , Wicks could be anything and is a talent waiting for the right coach to unleash him. Could be the bolter of the year for a rep spot.

Wicks could classify as overpaid if the rumours are true.

I suspect he'll be at least a bencher for the first few rounds, but from what I can tell Royal and Fa'aoso look like our starters?

Being on 200k+ is not really a rumour.

How is this any indication he being overpaid?

Considering how little he has proven at this stage in his career, 200k is overs. It may turn out to be a bargain, but at the moment its not.
