Whilst your relatively correct, there is a massive war going on with AFL on the coast and they know they've gotta post respectable crowd figures.

I was there tonight and it was absolutely empty, if it was a quarter full I'd be surprised

Yeah this. I was there as well and there was 7000 there at the absolute max.

If this is a war. We are getting f**kin bombed big time on the GC

They have bigger crowds, FTA tv coverage for every game, more members, more fans , more sponsors , more media coverage, more money , better stadium deal.

All this within 12 months. In a league stronghold.

11,644 at Penrith according to nrl.com. Seemed better than that and that was after Jennings gave out 2000 free tickets last round.

8,761 at the SFS.

The Titans have never had a home crowd of less then 10,000. Or should I say have never announced a home crowd of less then 10,000. I suspect that no matter how small the crowd is they never will.

Rain predicted in Brisbane from tomorrow, to next friday and could be longer. f**k! Will stall ticket sales for Broncos v Rabbits now.

a few showers for the next couple of days with top temps in the mid 20's
hardly terrible weather. v rabbits will be low to mid 40k.

Not quite...SLR is actually fairly close to the mark (except for the part about the length of the rain and the 'could be longer'). This is going to be a pretty solid rain event by August's standards in Brisbane.

Almost all the rain will occur between Sunday (tomorrow) and Friday, with not much for the weekend. Though it is a little far out to be forecasting next weekend's weather with any certainty...so get your knickers in a knot when rain is forecasted on Wed for the coming weekend!

A caller to the Continuous Call team yesterday reckons he has a kid in school on the Gold Coast and it's bombarded with AFL types visiting. Players from the Suns are extremely visible..

He goes further to say quote unquote he's never seen a League player (visit schools)

The Suns are on the same level on the ladder as the Titans and if what the caller says is true then Searle needs to explain WTF is going on..

Next year will be better for the Titans (even with Beau Henry in the team) and crowd figures will reflect that, but they need to be visible and the NRL needs to muck in and help the Titans ensure that the GC is and remains a League town...

Heard the same thing myself.

But I would take too much noticed of Hardlys show, they never ever put out any of the good stuff happening in RL, only the bad stuff.

The show is a disgrace.

Subsidised half price tickets would be a start.

Righto, your the resident expert on all things Australia. Watch out everyone, Winters will just be rain from now on.

...... you heard of El Nina?

You mean La Nina, which seems to be redeveloping after it was looking like we would be entering an El Nino phase. La Nina means plenty of rain for the east coast.

If we are going to have this constant questioning of crowd figures what is the point of this thread?

Well if clubs didn't fudge them, they wouldn't be questioned constantly.

If there were 10k at the Titans-Raiders, about 9k of them must have been on the side where the cameras weren't pointing.

People expecting a massive crowd in Newcastle tomorrow may end up being a bit disappointed. It's been raining here for the last few days and the weather is still looking terrible.

Hopefully it clears up by tomorrow to give us some chance.
