Apart from the fact that's full of shit, how is that remotely representative of a potential Central Coast team?

For the record, crowds at Bluetongue since 2005:

2005
16,162
16,253
13,079

2006
18,124

2007
18,321
19,111
11,264
14,288
17,122

2008
14,176
9,343
8,761
13,798
9,720

2009
15,227
8,412
10,923
6,232
15,857

2010
12,138
16,098
10,018
9,826
20,059

2011
18,108
8,616

A couple of shit-ordinary crowds yeah, but on average I think they're probably looking at similar crowds to what Perth's managed over their much more limited appearances. Through the same amount of games each year, I would think Perth and CC would probably both average somewhere between 14k and 16k.

EDIT: just did the sums, Gosford average is 13,501 since 2005 (26 matches), Perth average is 14,256 (4 matches). Perth in front obviously.

Well done to the Perth faithful in those conditions. Terrible weather but the fans made themselves known.

Which are matches that don't involved Manly or Newcastle, thanks for proving my point ;-)

Wow CC really has had some shocking crowds. Not sure if the commitment is really there. They'd have a good first few years then drop off the the state of Manly, Sharks and Penrith... not want we need.
 Nice stir.

Not exactly sure how that's relevant, the same local parochial support would appear for a local side. You would then completely sellout derby-style games against those two clubs here.

For the record, Wests Tigers v Melbourne drew an near-sellout crowd of 19,100 in 2007. Souths Melbourne in the same year drew in 14,300. Roosters v Canberra in 2005, 16,253.

While Perth is drawing good crowds now, having hosted just four games in the last decade or so, the Central Coast has had the carrot dangled for no fewer than 25 matches in the last six years. 51 games all up at the stadium if you count the Northern Eagles tenure. To be averaging 13k over that time (a whole bunch of current clubs struggle to break 10, 11 or 12k each season at the moment)... surely there's a case there.

I don't argue that Central Coast don't have a case, however Perth comes off as a much more attractive option if I were to chose between the 2. That said I do concede that if they did get more matches at NIB there is a chance that attendances would slightly lower and then steady at some point... maybe.

In the "Battle of the Gold Coast", the Suns drew just over 16,000 to their game this afternoon.

Will be interesting to see what sort of crowd shows for the Titans whick kicks off shortly.

Considering the difference in ticket prices I am actually expecting to get see less people show up the the NRL.

Perhaps when money becomes less of a factor the NRL should organise a ticket price based on position on the ladder deal. Though they don't control ticket pricing directly, they should be able to negotiate something.

I seen the so called 15k they got against Nth Melbourne the other week. No way was that stadium even close to half full, clearly inflated to score some points IMO. Same at the Gabba games, lies and more lies.
