I was in platinum 107 on the eastern stand, and i was absolutely astounded at how many queenslanders there were.

The southern stand is where the Maroon Crusade is.

On wednesday myself and Mrs SLR spent the whole day in the city, saw 11 NSW jerseys.

The airport today was a mass of Queenslanders, still wearing jerseys.

funny that there were Qlders at the airport. Did you expect heaps on people in NSW jerseys flying out of Sydney? The fact you only saw 11 NSW jerseys during the day in the city may have something to do with the fact that most people work during the day.

Surely some NSW fans should fly in and fly out. Brisbane airport is crazy with Queensland fans on our home games.

Also, Brisbane/QLD culture allows you to show your colour, even the most powerful of business blokes will throw on a maroon scarf.

Another fun thing was the "get to the game and support your blues" cries all over the central station floor.

This. Luckily, if it wasn't for the Queenslanders rocking up the ground would've been far from a sellout. Not that it was anyway.....

A couple of thousand inbreds from north of the border turn up,and thats the reason for the huge crowd!

Someone above suggested "one whole end was QLDers"?

There were four bays of maroon fans at the southern end (with plenty of empty seats in each of the bays, mind you). At last count there's 100-120 odd bays in that stadium. That's not a lot at all.

Actually 5 bays were allocated to the Maroon crusade.

And the areas around it were very thick with queenslanders.

Hate to derail the pissing contest about Wednesday night but back to the real action in club land

Parra V Easts 12k
Knights V Dragons 23k
Cowboys V Bulldogs 15k
Warriors V Manly 16k
Penrith V Tigers 17k
Melbourne V Sharks 15k
Canberra V Brisbane 13k

This being a public holiday weekend Monday night footy should be on the afternoon! A 3 or 4pm kickoff would generate a fantastic crowd. It should be an annual fixture like the good Friday game has become.

On a brighter note, have a feeling that weather permitting, Penrith will have a decent crowd hopefully 15k+.

Very true with the Monday point.

I think there should be more at Penrith, for once they are doing well.

Do you at least go to Gateshead games?

Used to go 3 a year but just thought it's shit as getting 250 fans in a Stadium that sits 12000 and seeing getting a beating every time alongside it ain't cheap with £10 a ticket and warm bottled beer £2.50,hot dog £3 alongside around 20 Nazi style council stewards watching and telling you to sit down ain't my idea of fun.
I wrote to the chairman and told him about the dislikes and some ideas to improve match day but they were having none of it.

Read the thread in the Panthers section our promotion is poor.If we get under 15k our marketing is a disgrace. Sunday day off after. Dry week record June temps due. Won 4/5 no excuses for under 75% full (15k)

Parra & Tigers are our best 2 crowd pullers. We got 14k to Parra a Monday night but like Sunday no school.

In regard to Monday spot on. We need to get as many locked in games as possible. Queens Birthday & Easter Monday are 2 days we have empty. Sure they may draw as normal short term but it can build up over 5-10 years.
