An unusually high number of warm wet days has turned Sydney into the tropics. It rained on 22 out of 31 days in March, the highest number since 1990.
''That's more than Darwin had, and normally it's the other way around,'' Mr Dutschke said.
The rain is forecast to continue until Thursday, but it is expected to clear in time for a picture-perfect Easter.
The holiday is forecast to be dry, with temperatures in the mid-20s for the long weekend.

Lets hope he's right, a sunny extra long weekend should do wonders for the crowds.

The Blues host the Waratahs (super rugby) on ANZAC Day at Eden Park. Will be interesting to see what kinda crowd union gets for it. IMO won't be as good as Easts/Saints, but probably comparable to the Vodafone/Melbourne crowd

There used to be a time when Storm v Dragons was played on Good Friday in Melbourne as no AFL being played.

Used to get OK crowds to.

I notice that they have given this away, and the Rebels have a game at AAMI instead.

Could only could happen in the NRL...

I can only assume that the dates got a bit stuffed around a couple of years ago with Easter falling close to the Anzac day holiday....

The Storm went with their traditional Anzac Warriors game which left AAMI empty on Good Friday that year...

No doubt our friends at the Rebels noted this and got in first for the next time....

2010 was when they played on Good Friday afternoon, got a crowd of over 25,000 at Etihad.

Next year they should play a game day or night on Good Friday. Easter will be the first week of April.

Yep it was the exact same situation as Roosters/Broncos Good Friday game. Roosters chose the ANZAC clash and they didnt continue the Good Friday one the following year.

Go to some Seagulls games (probably 3 or 4 a year), the very occasional (Easts) Tigers game
(1 a year).
