The Panthers having to play 4 Monday home games is a joke, from memory manly had a raw deal last year as well.
If they must persist with Monday I like the idea of every team hosting 1 for a total of 16 throughout the season. Of the other 10 rounds 6 are ?bye? rounds so absolutely no need for Monday night and a further two rounds don?t have Monday night (Week before rep round and Round 26) so that leaves 2 full rounds with no Monday night, Sunday night on fox would be the compromise.
In order to fix crowds, the NRL needs to take a quick lesson in supply & demand economics. They need to put UNDESIRABLE games in DESIRABLE time slots to ensure that crowds are boosted. The NRL should place DESIRABLE games in UNDESIRABLE time slots, as they will draw a crowd regardless of the conditions because of the exorbitant supply. The game of the round should be on a Monday & the worst games should be on a Friday night & Sunday afternoon. This method, coupled with reducing beer & food prices will have the fans coming in droves and ensuring the success of NRL for years to come.
For example:
Friday: Canberra vs Cowboys in Canberra (Put this undesirable game at a friendly time slot to ensure the entirety of Canberra gets out to the fixture).
Monday: Roosters vs Rabbitohs (Put this desirable game at a poor time slot, as it will draw a crowd regardless).

Rabbitohs vs Roosters Last round PAX 14365
you are kidding, big crowds don't come regardless. The AFL canned mnf or Thursday night because a carlton Collingwood match drew crap which is normally their big game.
The key is canning undesirable time slots.
If anything big matches should have the most desirable time slots until the stadium is selling out.
It seems like the crowds are getting worse despite the finals being just around the corner.
dunno if this might work but if every team plays a monday night game in the country we'd be killing two birds with one stone
Im sure country folk would turn up to a monday night game if promoted as a big occasion
we are only averaging 10000 for our monday night games anyway so rooster vs titans at mudgee on a monday would probably attract more than the recent 6000 at the SFS
Just make it so every team gets 1 Monday night game per year. That's 16 rounds, the other 8-10 rounds can be Thursday nights. It's the best compromise for clubs & TV execs.
Getting good crowds is great but if it's just compromising TV viewership by excluding bad crowd drawing time slots & in the end putting the games revenue at a net loss then it's really not worth it, I think lots of people lose track of this fact when talking about crowd improvement.
If each club gets 1 Monday night game per year then they can make it into an event, drop the prices & really try to turn it into a big deal. The NRL can add some incentives like prize money for the 3 biggest crowds & disincentives like reduction of grant money for the low performers.
The NRL should look at implementing something like "Tightass Tuesdays" for Monday night games across the board. It's been a huge success for cinemas and could just as easily do the same for our game. $10 for an Adult, $5 for Students & $2 for kids. The clubs might not make a great deal on it, in fact they probably wont make any money directly from the night but the game & by affiliation the clubs will be much better off financially for being able to offer Monday nights as part of our TV deal.
Is there much difference between the fox Sunday TV audience and the Monday might game?
