Nice CT, provided both teams win will provide a massive boost while if 1/2 win it be only a minor boost. If both lose this weekend will be worst case scenario.

ANZ will be nuts that weekend. Good Friday Dogs/Souths 40-50k... Eels/Tigers Monday maybe the same, plus potential all-Sydney A-League final wedged in the middle, no doubt same sort of crowd.

The last two Good Friday crowds have been great crowds. Will this year's top last year's crowd of over 50,000?

Nice work azsporta. Down 68,548 can be caught up on I think providing the next 2 weeks work out well. With the QLD Derby and Parra/Penrith games can draw well this week followed by the Easter games with Eels/Tigers, Souths/Dogs and the ANZAC day clashes can drive up crowds.

if there was a suncorp that week, it could potentially set a record for highest average crowd for a non round 1 or 26 round.

3 40k fixtures would mean 14k at the others = 23.75k avg.

BUT, no suncorp. still, 20k average that week is doable.

No Suncorp is the major problem. Which is why they need another 2 new teams for Brisbane. It will help improve crowd figures and viewing figures.
Is why Dave smith is looking at our heartlands in Queensland, Brisbane.
You shore up Brisbane, you shore up the whole TV market.
Perth and NZ are bonuses.
20 teams play each team once, every second year one home game, then next year one away game. Perfect, 19 rounds with a nines and origin mid year.
Done.

So all in all our crowds aren't too bad but I don't think we can do a fair comparison until the end of round 8 though when the ANZAC round for this year is done. Until then we are comparing apples and oranges because the two high drawing rounds were earlier last year. Take out the two round 4 (Easter round last year) numbers and we are only 8,099 down on last year which would have been made up if we didn't have shocking weather the last round.

last year crowds were brilliant until origin when they did their normal dip

the problem was post origin they didnt pick up again like they normally do

so comparisons with last year will look much better as we complete origin.

last year in the early rounds the average at one stage was well over 17k

if they can manage the post origin period better than last year well be well up on last year

I think this years origin period will fare a little better.

Two games in Queensland, and I also believe there is no Broncos home game on the Friday directly after a home origin. They gave us a Sunday game after origin one against the Sea Eagles, surely that will reach 30k.
