Just flicked to channel 7

f**k me there's like 45k + at ANZ

We are doing something wrong

Dont worry - about 12k+ Carlton supporters travelled. Im watching it now, and they wont stop whinging about how slippery the field is that was underneath the sideline seating from last night.

Fairies need to piss off to the SCG. When the SCG redevelopment is finished, there is NEVER a need to play at ANZ.

Next desperate step

Magic Weekend

The only reason why we are fixated on how apparently low our attendances are in NSW and across the board is the AFL and our obsession with comparison with it.

Look at other domestic rugby competitions. ESL in England Top 14 Union in France. Premier Union in England etc. All would love to have NRL attendance figures.

Yes it would be nice to get bigger attendances and it is possible but the reality is there is a certain percentage of our population willing to attend RL games with any regularity and that percentage amounts to an average of about 16K per game. That is the reality. There will always be bad weather as well as good. teams low on the ladder playing in negative timeslots as well as teams high on the ladder playing in good slots, there will always be other attractions. There will always be transport issues. Tere will always be a price for tickets unless we just open the gates. We just have to be real and stop the sooking because we don't sell more tickets. We sell what we sell.

We can all live with Melbourne having a better sporting culture than Sydney in terms of attendance

Afl Melbourne crowds have more than doubled Sydney's rl crowds for over 100 years

But I personally can't stand swans doubling a finals crowd of Sydney's best supported team

I'm sorry it just really grates

The crowds were bad compared to recent finals in general. Any Sydney team should be aiming for 20,000 to a finals games and the best supported clubs/top of the ladder clubs should be aiming for 30,000.

Souths got 32,000 against Storm in a regular game. Only 21,000 in a final?
A Roosters/Manly final should attract 30,000 alone especially when it's 2v3. Sharks managed 18,000 in their last home final against Canberra, this year shouldn't be any different despite it being at Allianz.

Manly v Sharks is a dream finals encounter. Old rivalry. It should get 30,000, or do Manly fans think it should be at Brookvale again??
Melbourne should get at least 20,000. They had a good year for attendances and have been top 4 for three years.

Souths should be aiming for 60,000+ against Manly or Sharks and Roosters should be aiming to sell out SFS.

Surprisingly only 38k at the AFL. Not great for them, but it looks more.

Interesting to note that the commentators have had a big winge about the condition of the turf under where the rugby league stands were last night, some going as far as claiming it as a scandal, others having the audacity to have a go at the rugby for rolling the stands in . It may possibly be the end of AFL finals at ANZ.

They even showed a screenshot of the NRL game there on the telecast. It was odd.

I agree, it was odd. Definitely a mini anti-rectangular sport campaign.

Commentators also happened to mention that Souths v Melbourne only got 21k last night.

Yeah, heard that snide remark too. There will probably be some sort of push for AFL to either book out the entire weekend (not going to happen) or oblige league to play with the stands in oval configuration. I could definitely see them lobbying for that especially with an AFL bloke on the board of the stadium.

The annoying thing is we should of got mid thirtys last night

Would not be surprised in future if Nrl agrees to all games being played with seats farther back

Pathetic the Swans outdrew both NRL games..so much for 'heartland'. In particular, the Souths crowd it's just unacceptable. Sick of the excuses of not showing up..in particular for finals games. Your team is in the finals, show up.

I have heard the tools say in other games.

" oh rugby don't even open the top stands here at ANZ "

These merkins from ball boys to presidents want to basically shut RL down in this country this is the only way they can grow

And we send Adam Reynolds to the game so he can I gram all night about it

That 37,980 crowd figure is interesting.

Same crowd as Round 23 against the Hawks.

Figure fudging?

There is absolutely no doubt, Suncorp would have had more people for that double header with exactly the same sides playing

Shame Sydney shame

Oink !

Brisbane were struggling to draw 30k for the last half of the season. Get your hand off it.
