15000 is a fantastic crowd for a Monday against spoon contenders. Would have got 30k if we had the timeslot Gus's mates gave his team.

What makes you say that?

The only afternoon game Souths have played this year they got 16,000.

Are you suggesting that and extra 14,000 dragons fans would show up?

We haven't got any home arvo games this year. Get your facts straight if you're going to have a go at us.

That was in Cairns.

Sunday afternoon has been the preferred timeslot of our fans for a while. Last year against Sydney clubs on Sundays we got 30k against Wests and 25k against Parra.

Yet the NRL in its infinite wisdom decides to give several home Sunday slots to Easts, Penrith, and Wests who barely draw over 12k.

Roosters Monday night crowds this year
-V Parra 18,014
-V Manly 16,246

If souths aren't pushing 20k this code is in deep trouble. No rain, gun side, great rivals, opposition fans that travel.

Mate that's an unfair comparison. Manly is a top four team and the Eels game was on Easter Monday. We got the highest crowd this week, pretty good considering it was a crappy Monday game.

Was a good crowd considering there were only 50 people in the away bay.

If you had swapped our game with Penrith's, you still would have gotten the same crowd at Penrith but 5k-10k more at ANZ.

Of course it was, in fact it was probably the best crowd of the season.

Further proof that the membership base is a myth.

We've had 1 Sunday home game this year you gronk  and in that game there were literally zero penrith fans, the same excuse being lined up for last night lol

Not any old spoon contenders. We are talking about the Dragons here and their season was on the line.

Should have been 20k there.

So why waste that good timeslot on you guys? You'd have gotten the same crowd on a Saturday night.

Should have been 20k there.

In 2011 (also MNF), the crowd was 21k. I think it was near Easter though, and of course they were coming off a premiership and had a great start that year.

Looks like souths will be relying on big turnouts by dogs and roosters fans to boost their crowd average out of the doldrims this year :sarcasm:

Talk to Dragons fans, there were only about 15 in attendance

I love seeing fans of Sydney clubs using this excuse. You guys get a bunch of games with inflated crowds every year. Clubs like the storm have to deal with having no away support every week (not a complaint but that is the reality).

If your own fan base shows up you don't need away support.

I love Rooster troll logic.
1st vs. 15th - 14,571 = bad
2nd vs. 5th - 13,706 = ok
Throw in an emoticon in there for effect

Regardless of scheduling, a team running so well that boasts such a large supporter base *should* be getting more than 14.5k against one of it's oldest and fiercest rivals.

You seem to mention this every week without ever looking at the stats. Up until the start if the origin series we were on track for the biggest ever season for crowds in history. Now, we are slightly under but with a strong finish can still break the record.
I don't think we will and one of the reasons is that traditional big drawing teams such as Brisbane, parra, dragons and tigers are having shithouse seasons.

But from where I am standing crowd's are very ordinary/poor for most team's.
2 thing's I mean is when crowd's drop from one team there is alway's another team not alway's in the same area that seem's to replace it with improved crowd's e.g. Penrith 2003-2004/2005 growth but dropping while Manly's crowd's started to improved greatly when Penrith's crowd's were dropping.
2nd thing is how could Penrith have 14000 to 20000 for a few year's and then suddenly there fan's start to drop off to the point where they were back in the 1980's ??...how can NRL fan's do that.
