Ahh yea the optics are way worse. The context of the assaults are completely different. I would put money on the majority of people viewing DV as worse than assaulting a female officer.

I cannot agree that allegedly inadvertently pulling a females hair, whilst alledgedly attempting to grab her on the shoulder is 10 weeks worse than allegedly kicking and punching on with a female cop.

It's not the specifics of the assaults. It's DV in general. When people hear DV charge the mind goes to black eyes and trembling women. That doesn't happen when you hear someone's assaulted an officer. Even if it was a female officer.

Ultimately all the NRL is concerned about is how it looks having the player on the field. Like it or not, no one really cares much about Scott's antics.

Whislt the Captain in waiting at the Broncos goes on his merry way ?
AFB ?
Burgess with his FIL ?
Toddy giving a personal character references for certain drunk drivers ?
Sivo's alleged Pearce-like moment overseas ?

The NRL is really not that concerned about the optics of anything at all, dependant on the player and club at the time.
Some clubs get the sweep under, others get the hammer.

Raiders just joined the sweep under Clubs.

:joy: Raiders one of the favoured clubs. That'll do me. You're letting your bias over the Walker situation get carried away.

DV and fighting cops are such vastly different things I dunno where to start. I'm not even gonna consider the genders involved. It doesn't matter.

How many perps of DV would pull that shit if their victim had a gun, a partner with a gun and a shitload of backup a call away?

"the decision should in no way be interpreted as a view on his innocence or guilt...."

Even though that is precisely what it is.

You ask to see video, you make your call on the basis of it, of course it is an opinion on whether you think he's guilty or not.

Yep. If he stood him down it would go someway to diminishing his presumption of innocence.

Over these merkins, its not hard to go out and not belt anyone, even if you're shit faced. I spent most weekend of my 20s intoxicated and under the influence of other stuff, never got arrested, never started a fight, certainly never came close to putting my hands on a woman. f**k these wankers off I do not want to read a bunch stories about Scott being depressed because his girl left him or some bullshit trying to garner sympathy and sell his redemption.
fully agree , with everything

Curtis is a deadshit and one of the worst signings in Raiders history but how f**king dumb were the police here. Why didn't they just admit they f**ked up with the arrest and withdrawal the charges instead of wasting everyone's time and money by going to court

It was clear that these charges would stick about 3 weeks after the incident itself.
The cops stringing this out was a total embarrassment

Strange flex from the cops. Pull it on an ordinary Joe, not the bloke who can afford a QC and will attract media attention.

We laugh at dumb crims filming their crimes but cops lying about an incident recorded on their body cam is right up there for stupid.

so he sleepily brushed away officers hands while they were trying to wake him by flicking his nose and pinching his earlobes, officers called that resisting arrest so they handcuffed him while still asleep, Scott wakes up in shock and fear (who f**king wouldn't) with his hands restrained and lights blinding him, kicks his legs out, then gets pepper sprayed, tazered, his ankle trodden on and punched in the back numerous times.

shit I hope he sues them.
