I don't know Azz, Inglis is a good player, a better player than Campese and Inglis had a massive year. It is just a question on who was a better 5/8th this year and I think that one is a little harder to tell.

Inglis got it because he had a better overall season, I still am happy to have Campese at the raiders though :D

Run in like a big hero to hit Jamie Soward and it costs you the highest individual honour in the game!

good stuff to see tonguey finally get some recognition with two gongs. i expected him to win captain of the year but was quite surprised and pleased to see him win lock as well. congrats to best as well - him and monaghan are largely the reason why we've scored so many points this season.

campese was dead set robbed though.

Re-Campese... Do you really think his form in the 1st half of the year was really up to the standard of the award?
He's killed it late in the season, but he was pretty quiet for a lot of the season!

Hasler should have got coach of the year for guiding a bunch of overrated, nuffy, useless hacks to 2nd on the table.

He's killed it late in the season, but he was pretty quiet for a lot of the season!

He was largely playing second fiddle to Carney for the first 15 odd rounds, and hardly saw any ball.

When he got a chance, he was good though.

I don't see how he can own Inglis on the leaderboard and not get the gong?

I'm generally peeved about Inglis getting it though, I think Anasta would have been more fitting. But Campese really should have won.

Goes good on the fantasy team, Campo!

I think Hasler probably deserved CotY in front of Henry, to be honest.

But the press loves to talk up our coaches 'cos they haven't heard of our players!!

I was thinking, "Canberra steal the show, surely this will be the end of Raiders' fans whining about how they're ignored, forgotten, unfairly treated, etc."

You guys couldn't even last one thread!

Greg Inglis wins Dally M Five Eigth of the Year.

I understand the decision MISH but with that said Prince was obviously a cut above and to accept a player of Orfords standard because he played more games is a disgrace.
Lol.

We have no five eighth. We lost our most creative player (apparently) in Monaghan.

And Orford, well, he's sh*t.

Yet we finished second. Again. Go figure.

There must be some real crappy teams out there if we're second.

2007 - Thurston - preliminary final
2006 - Smith - lost grand final
2005 - Thurston - lost grand final
2004 - Buderus - missed finals
2003 - not held
2002 - Johns - preliminary final
2001 - Campbell - preliminary final
2000 - Barrett - missed finals
Can someone please remind me why we didn't have the Dally M's in 2003? I have no recollection of that. Perhaps it's time I start investing in some memory pills!
I call Shenanigns :x
Wait, let me get my broom ...!

And in relation to Inglis winning Five-Eighth Of The Year, I personally always thought the team of the year was based on DallyM points, but when you've got Cameron Smith and Billy Slater collecting as many points as they did and finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively, there's not really room for a 3rd player to go so well. That's my take on it anyway.
