Bloody disgrace all round -board looks for an easy fix. You could put Bennett in charge and we wouldn't be any better.

I will remember this day come the next AGM.

Knee jerk reaction to a disappointing season- this bloke took them to a Grand Final and had them playing as sensational football as I have seen a side play.

Teams get into ruts and the Eels got themselves into a rut this year. You would have thought Anderson could have been given the benefit of the doubt and another season.

Then again, rumors of player discontent have followed Anderson throughout his career- perhaps there truly is more to this than a performance based review

They only even made the finals because Hayne was in all-time form. If they lose one early game on that run they probably finish bottom 4. Then he comes into a new season without any tweaks to the offence becaue he thinks they can do it over all again but teams were never going to give Hayne the same space or let them get away with offloads. The exact same thing happened at the Warriors i.e. the warriors got some succes becasue they offloaded at will but within a year or 2 teams had learnt how to shut it down and "Brains" Anderson didnt have the nous to adjust.

It'd be no surprise. The culture of that club is rancid. Unless you are Wayne Bennett or have an unsinkable bank balance like Craig Bellamy, it usually takes time to get the team playing the way you want it. Every coach who seems to go to Parramatta seems to be treading lightly waiting for the bullet. If that's their prerogative, they either need to sign the doyen in Bennett, or they need to change their boards hiring and firing philosophy. Too many politics involved with that joint.

Anderson is a very good coach. The turn around he instituted in Auckland was fantastic. Poor coaches don't achieve what he did there. He then went to St Helens and had a fantastic career there, earning accolades in the sporting community including from memory something like the UK Coach of the Year. First year back here he guides them to the Grand Final. Next year he's gone? That'd be rank bad management if true and only IMO consigns them to more failures, particularly as no one would trust the board given the denials surrounding lining Kearney up to replace him.

Exactly, continued success will continue to be a pipe dream at the Eels until the inmates stop running the Asylum.

Its quite obvious that Hayne has played a huge part in Daniels departure, after all a coach should never have told a player that he wasnt at his best......

Feel for Anderson, but deadset getting away from the Parramatta Prima Donna's while his name still has value is a blessing for him.

seems the attitude of the players is the problem, gould ahs compared them many times to ahving the mentality of a park football team and thats how they've played.

I am happy that he has been sacked - sure he got us to a grand final. But did he really or was it the master plan of pass it to Jared?

He isnt what he is made out to be... we had no game plans or year. He kept selecting an undeserving 7 in mortimer and waited till our season was over to blood our best young hooker.

He instructed our most devastating ball playing forward to not offload or pass (Mateo)

He relied on the brillance of hayne... I am all for a coach who game come up with a set game plan for the season. Maybe even some set plays.

Pathetic decision. How can you sack a bloke who got you to the Grand Final? Those rumours about his people skills must be true, as this is the second time he has been sacked by a club that took to a GF (and not long after on both occasions).

umm some conspiracy theory you implant in your own mind doesn't mean it's 'obvious'. Honestly, i don't think this has anything to do with that Hayne incident especially considering it was blown out of proportion by the media.

I think it's more in general about his inability to provide our team with a game plan, something which we have lacked over the past 2 years. Im grateful for the fact that he has taken our team to a grandfinal, but im also aware of the fact that him taking us to the grandfinal coincided with Jarryd Hayne being in superb form.

Maybe a change of coach is just what we need... I do wish him all the best and im embaressed for him that he had to go out this way. He is a good coach ( just maybe not the right coach for us) and im sure someone will snap him up in no time.

Is it him or the players as he got the warriors into the grandfinal in 2002 and then was gone the year after the same as at parramatta- obviously something is amiss?? -

To many oversized babies being away too over sensitive. Feleti Mateo, Ali Lauititi and Other PI boys need to harden up

I'm a Warriors fan and even though Anderson has had problems with player attitudes, he himself cannot do the work Eels expected of.

He (anderson) will be a good pick up for another club either here or ESL in due time
What a waste of a talented coach.

Paramatta have now become my most hated club for this decision alone

What coach would want to go to Parra right now?

Not only with the highly volatile nature of the way Parra treat their coaches but imagine having a brainless squint eyed spastic like Ray Price trying to put in his input

he backed up very well in 2003, 2004 was a disaster. it was pretty apparent what the biggest on field issue with the club was in 2004 and he probably would have been able to rectify it.

Yep. I bought that up about round 10 this year. This looked on the cards back then.

Even the most die hard Daniel Anderson fans have to admit that a team has massive drama's when they only seem to be able to play well, when they're backs are against the wall. Apart from a surge of form at the back end of '09, the Eels have had no consitency and realistically I can't see anything changing in '11.

Now it may be the players, it may be the coach, it may be the board or the general culture around the place. But the club can't sit by and do nothing and allow 2011 to be the same and 2010. Now it's a bit hard to sack the players and the board aren't going to sack themselves so something has to happen. Sack the coach, you'll change the culture around the club slightly and maybe get rid of the thing that has caused it to happen.

As I see it the only choices Parra had was: a) Let it be and hope it's better by itself; Or b) Sack the coach.

Why? Because they did exactly the same as your club? Hypocrite!

He is the first coach they ever sacked ffs! How many of the old clubs can you say the same about? Every other coach since 1947 was allowed to finish their contract. What is volatile about that?

With that squad, to come 12th is inexcusable.
