I agree generally with most of the feeling here.
His conservative, lawyerish approach was well-suited to the early 2000's when we needed a bit of stability and to regain a bit of integrity and trust.
However, once the AFL really started pushing their "world dominance" campaign in the last 5-7 years, we probably needed a more progressive leader to really take us forward. Unfortunately, the leadership structure pre-arlc provided no one that could challenge Gallops role, and as anyone who has power, he was never going to give it up on his own.
Overall, he probably would have suited some sort of high-ranking legal role in the NRL rather than the CEO position. And for heavens sake, lets please hire some new blood, someone will leadership and business acumen. Not some RL dinosaur who has agendas, vendettas and vested interests.
