I tend to get a little annoyed when a bloke who is closer to 500K a year than 75K a year says that they are making the change because they "have a family to think of".
How come the Broncos seem to be the capital of the turncoats? Sailor, Tequiri, Barnes, Folau, cutie. No other club has that record. Why?
If they could do that, they wouldn't get that kind of money, as most of it is to make the other code look favourable. Telling it like it is won't do that... :shock:The only things I hate about it is the BS they go on about needing a new challenge, just state the bloody truth that it's about money.
Not sure this is the direction the OP intended, but its not like this "loyalty" issue is a recent trend in professional sports or League though, its been happening since the late 60's at least.
What is loyalty anyway, if a player who has been at a club for 10 years gets an downgraded contract, that he feels is insulting and decides to go elsewhere for more cash is that "disloyal"?
What about sports with drafts? AFL, NBA, NFL etc. your loyalty is up for grabs, you play all your juniors in a certain area, club system etc. and then suddenly your a moved 1000km away to play for a team.
I wonder do fans get upset in those sports? "Oh we went to the trouble of drafting him, now he is leaving"???
Souths are still around and Norths were victims of treachery & administrative incompetence. The annoyance was that Norths had enough money to stand alone when they merged.Tell that to Souths and Norths idiot.

A better example for you to use would be the Gold Coast Chargers. They disappeared due an NRL decision and they also had cash in the bank when it happened.
The disloyalty that was difficult to tolerate, and should not have been tolerated, was the move to SL by Canterbury, Penrith and Cronulla.
Player movements are insignificant in comparison.
I understand their need to cite fake reasons for switching back and forth. Leaving a code for 'the challenge' is as invalid as returning because it is a 'better game'. Money talks.
I haven't seen cases of a player bagging out his previous code. The only bagging currently is Mason v union - and that is the code he is currently in.
I don't read aussie rules articles, so maybe I have missed something there.
You don't remember the likes of Rogers and co telling other RL players in the newspapers columns how great it is and they should also come over?
And then there was another of the idiots who had a list of NRL players the ARU should've poached.
Nope. The ARU targeted specific players. It would hardly matter what Rogers or any other convert said - it would be up to the people responsible for recruitment.
Any high profile player when signing with a new club will be interviewed and trot out the same cliches - it is great here, the boys are pumped, this is the toughest off season ever etc etc.
This is no different.
It was different, there were threads about it in TFC before you even got here (not unless you were here under another username).
You should keep your unsubstantiated allegations in TFC. I am not saying Rogers didn't write something that upset you, but TFC is hardly a credible source. You make it sound like Matt Rogers is the exception that proves the rule anyway.
I know Ray Price had some choice words for the ARU when he signed for the Eels, but he was aiming at the administration, not the players or the sport.
f**k off unionite troll
All the players who have returned to Rugby League after a spell in union have gone backwards in their fitness and their skill sets on their return to Rugby League. No one has mentioned Tahu in this.
Came back a shadow of the player he was before he left yet still got handed a NSW jersey on his return (though I'm sure that has more to do with the incompetence of the Blues selectors than anything else).
