None of what? Rehab for posting homophobic tweets? The employer is confident they wouldn't re-offend, it's even in his contract.

'Almost guaranteed' yeah sure mate. Most of the idiots who have been sacked for criminal offences then re-signed have gone on to re-offend. But the clubs didn't seem to care then and re-signed again. Carney was sacked three times before being signed by Catalans and ESL didn't kick up a stink then. Lodge's contract was allowed before he had paid damages and even after his former partner came forward with details of their abusive relationship.

Greenberg on Lodge:
"Ultimately that is a matter for him and I understand he and his manager have been in contact with [the victims]. But that's not a matter for us to get involved in," he said.

"We're not in the business of telling people and players how to spend their money. That's up to them."

But yeah apparently homophobic tweets is something for the NRL to get involved in and tell clubs they can't spend their money on Folau.

"I'm not condoning anything that he's done but the game is forgiving. There are many examples ... [players] who have done time in prison, made some grave errors, but have come back and been great shining lights for families, their communities and their sport and I hope Matt Lodge is one of those."

Hypocrisy

I'm not arguing for Folau to be let back in the game, I'm arguing that the rule for one should be the rule for all and if Folau is banned then we shouldn't let all the human garbage f**kwits that we've let back in either.

Pretty sure if Folau had apologised to the gay community and shown some contrition and the NRL had a genuine sense he wouldnt be a fckwit again they would have let him sign for someone. His problems are his own making, he believes in what he says and isn't prepared to temper or show remorse that his views are damaging to some, as his good book says, you reap what you sow.

The only mistake RU made was on the contract, they didn't have the right clause in there, if the contract said what they thought it said Israel wouldn't have gotten anything.
Well that sounds like an organisation that's right on top of things.

Would love to see Folau back. Could be a good pick up for a team near the bottom such as the Titans who could really use a star player and obviously have the money.

Not a QLD fan but it'd be a big coup for Queensland to have Folau in their centres also...

Can he play Sundays?

Yeah, you get to pick & choose which bits of the god handbook are the bits he really means- all the stuff about not marring the corners of thy beard or lending money at interest or violating the sabbath (whichever day you decide it is on) isn't a big deal. But he really, really means it when he says don't be gay.

. . . That would be about the same as picking and choosing exactly which ONE of the EIGHT sins that Folau tweeted, that you choose to narrow your combined focus upon and completely and utterly disregard the other SEVEN.
Is that what you really really mean ?

The one sin that has been 'picked and chosen' from his post is the one that constitutes harrassment on the grounds of sexuality. How that's not plainly evident is beyond me.

Timmah, the harrassment of which you speak is a very recent law in our country. Hardly the platform to champion causes upon.
Harrassment is also a 2 way street. If you even say the word "gay" you are bombarded from all and sundry.
Ironically, "Life of Brian" got it right. "All I said was that piece of halibut was fit for Jehova"
Do you think that the adulterers would appreciate being harrassed because they like banging other folks' spouses ?
The idolaters? . . . why should they be harrassed just because they pray to a giant vagina ?
The drunks sure don't like being criticised for being umm, drunk !
Liars don't appreciate being called out for lying.
Aaaand so on.
C'mon Timmah . . .
Can't you see that you guys have focused on ONE and only ONE aspect of what Folau tweeted?
And went berko ?
Everything else is totally ignored. If I was a drunk, I'd sue you lot for discriminating against drunks by not including them in your rants. Fancy only zeroing in on the gays !!! Typical !
All because of 3 letters. Golf, Alpha, Yankee.

Everything else on your list is a choice...

And how long does a law have to be on the books exactly before you deem it worthy of... of whatever criteria it is you seem to think makes a law valid?

Like Hayne?

When Hayne signed for the Titans I was so excited and I thought he'd turn the franchise around. Unfortunately they got a guy who I think was looking to coast along in a nice area for the next 3-5 seasons doing minimal and being paid big money to do so.

I think with Folau he has something to prove. I'd say it's only a matter of a week or two until we find out what Folau is all about. If he comes back to rugby league and starts absolutely dominating Super League (Something you'd expect he should be able to do) then we know he's for real. If he dogs it like old mate Hayne did then NRL clubs know to keep away from him.

That's not from the bible that's from Stephen Kings Children of the Corn.

I would be keen to have Folau back in the game, he is entertaining on the field.

I don't care about sports peoples (or celebrities) opinions about anything.
