Timmah, the harrassment of which you speak is a very recent law in our country. Hardly the platform to champion causes upon.
Harrassment is also a 2 way street. If you even say the word "gay" you are bombarded from all and sundry.
Ironically, "Life of Brian" got it right. "All I said was that piece of halibut was fit for Jehova"
Do you think that the adulterers would appreciate being harrassed because they like banging other folks' spouses ?
The idolaters? . . . why should they be harrassed just because they pray to a giant vagina ?
The drunks sure don't like being criticised for being umm, drunk !
Liars don't appreciate being called out for lying.
Aaaand so on.
C'mon Timmah . . .
Can't you see that you guys have focused on ONE and only ONE aspect of what Folau tweeted?
And went berko ?
Everything else is totally ignored. If I was a drunk, I'd sue you lot for discriminating against drunks by not including them in your rants. Fancy only zeroing in on the gays !!! Typical !
All because of 3 letters. Golf, Alpha, Yankee.
A lot to unpack here.

To start, whether it's recent or not (1984 pre-dates my birth, so I'm gonna say 35+ years is not "very recent"), it's law. It is absolutely the platform to champion causes on. It's not your call whether it's relevant or important.

As @BadnMean said, the remainder of your silly, obtuse questions are all about choice. This thread has gone over and over the very clear discussion about suicide rates among young LGBT people and so on - and why what Folau said was hurtful.

C'mon mate, don't you minimise Rosco's struggle ... he can't say the G word anymore.

Gee you really dont like Christians.

I'm not keen on religion, especially when it used to spread hatred and marginalisation.
I quite liked Mother Theresa. Cardinal Pell not so keen. My RE teacher was super hot so liked her, our school Vicar seemed a very angry man so wasn't so flash on him. A like or dislike of an entire group of people is irrational.

So much for being inclusive... a bit hypocritical.

we are all bigoted to something, its in our hard wiring.
some keep it to themselves and work hard to try and not let it influence how they treat others. Some openly embrace it and preach hatred about groups they dont like. Religion is just a great vehicle to justify the latter for some.

I think your a bit way off the mark... Religion doesn't preach hatred, d..ck heads preached hatred.

Well leaving aside that some of it kind of does, I didn't actually say that. I said it is a convenient vehicle that some use. I'm imagining that generally you arent homophobic because you are a Christian, rather being a Christian gives you a vehicle to be homophobic, if you choose it to be. People seemingly pick the bits of doctrine they want to. Be it for convenience of their life, because they dont actually believe some of it because it is just nuts, or because it helps them justify a behavior or a belief they hold.

Would love to see Catalans win the Super League (LOL) just to watch Folau come up against the Aussies in the WCC. They would belt the everloving f**k out of him.

anyone that believes in a man in the sky ( and often asks him for favors ) is quite obviously a very sane rational person who bases their understanding of life and the universe on a deep understanding of science.:oops: They stand head and shoulders above the pack, daylight second followed by flat earthers, climate change deniers, and anti- vaxxers ....same types of people.....just different cults.

“If a man is born ignorant, to parents that are ignorant, in a society that is ignorant, lives a life of ignorance, and eventually dies in ignorance…..then, ignorance is the norm. Thus, indoctrination can be called education, hypnotism can be called entertainment, criminals can be called leaders, and lies can be called truth, because his mind was never truly his own.”

Agree entirely with the sentiments in this....

I have a very weird example that I can never get my head around. I know a woman, in her late 30’s who is an incredibly intelligent scientist. She’s one of the top scientists/doctors for the worlds leading Cancer charities - it’s not just a job to her, she sees it asalmost her calling in life - she dedicated her life to work in this area after her Mum died of cancer. Anyway, the fundamental area of focus on her job is looking at how cancer evolves, how it reacts and changes to different treatments - she’s using the history of anti-biotics and how certain strains of viruses have evolved to become immune to anti-biotics, seeing if cancer reacts in the same way, and seeing if there is a way of using this knowledge to make cancer evolve into a non-life threatening form. All super clever stuff, that relies entirely on the scientific factual evidence of evolution.
So, as I say, she is SUPER intellligent, yet she is a very strict and devout Catholic. She believes her version of the bible to the letter, and I just can’t get my head around it. Her entire life’s work is basically proving the bible wrong - yet she still believes.
I often think it’s just because it’s family tradition and kids brought up in that environment are pretty much brain washed, but how can someone so intelligent not be influenced by the stone cold facts she deals with every day.

Maybe she doesn't want to go tell hell?

If countless nrl rejects are good enough to be the Man of Steel, Folau will have no issues. He will probably be the best quality player we have ever sent there. Or maybe on par with barba

EDIT - why would he be enittled to future earnings at all if something wasn't awry. How much is he getting from Catalans?

it would appear Sonny Bill 6 years out of the sport and some pre season in hand just proved me right.
Falou has been out of the sport for 10 years and hasn’t even made it to France yet. I wouldn’t expect him to be doing that much.
