Do you think they both should've lost?No shit. But you’re quick to blame our loss on injuries, yet the team we lost too also had injuries.

The bench middles got limited game time because they weren't good enough. Why do you think we signed Papali'i and re-signed Kaufusi?Ok that’s fair enough. How about our 3 dominate middles being off the field together. You think that was ideal in such a huge game, considering paulo, rcg and Nrown had been playing big minutes all year, and bench middles getting limited game time?
Yep, but losing what were the 2 best wingers at the time and the most experienced centre on the morning of the match was a lot more destructive. That doesn’t suit the narrative of the talking knobs on Fox and Nein, as a club we were and are still building into what Souffs, Storm and Rooters have done over the last decade.k

How big is Papali'i?!The bench middles got limited game time because they weren't good enough. Why do you think we signed Papali'i and re-signed Kaufusi?

No, it wasn't ideal. Bennett raised a good point after the game and I reckon we will have learnt from that as well. Hopefully we have better coaching and more composed players at the back end of the season.
I actually think BA is the sort of coach that focuses a lot on those little attention to detail, effort issues. If we weren’t focusing on them in games I doubt it was because BA hadn’t thought to tell them to compete on every play.Yeah we put ourselves in control of that game. And imploded under pressure. We let in 30 points in the 2nd half. And all the tries were soft and avoidable.
I have believed we were a team last year that didnt do the one percenters well. Case in point when moses took that kick everyone was 30m back expecting him to kick it. Is that coaching issue or a player issue. As we know BA isnt the most tactically coach going around. And i dont think in the past he has reall driven the percentages.
For some reason i remember vossy commentating parra games numerous times last year and whenever we took a shot a penalty goal. He would always say Gutho was the only player near moses and if it hit the post and come back into field of play we would be in trouble. That exact scenario happened at the most crucial point of the season last year.
I actually believed we have improved a in that area of one percenters this year but still plenty of improvement to go.
Like who is the replacement for Mahoney if he gets injured?I actually think BA is the sort of coach that focuses a lot on those little attention to detail, effort issues. If we weren’t focusing on them in games I doubt it was because BA hadn’t thought to tell them to compete on every play.
He’s not the sort of coach to come up with a Warren Ryan (or even Brian Smith) style game plan where he clearly out coaches the opposition, but then I don’t see a lot of coaches doing that at the moment.
Where I think he’s still learning is in the use of the bench.
Well, there were plenty of geniuses on here that were complaining that the Fresh Prince shouldn’t be taking up a spot on the bench.Like who is the replacement for Mahoney if he gets injured?

P.S. I don’t think it’s of an example of an ‘effort’ issue. We were talking about the ‘1%ers’ on the field.
In any case Drown, Cartwright and Gutho can all play there if needed. None of them will be as good as Rheed though. That’s to be expected.
Why so? Has our Centre Of Excellence been busy elsewhere producing mediocrity? It's not good enough...ffs!Well, there were plenty of geniuses on here that were complaining that the Fresh Prince shouldn’t be taking up a spot on the bench.

Most likely, he thought Mahoney wouldn't get injured while his pet 'Will' wasn't available.Yes a dumb call having Haze on bench. I guess reason maybe he is carrying a forward at centre so an injury anywhere bar hooker and Haze could cover with Marata moving to pack.
He obviously feels Lussick isn't anywhere near NRL level and not worth a bench spot. Stone if hadn't missed the last month was prob going to be there.
BA prob figured he may as well roll dice and have no back up hooker.
Hail Will SmithExcept one guy. Hindy111 has been praying Smith for a while.
He gets the job done.
We should three Rheed-level number 9s ready to go. Centre of Excellence? More like Centre of Plop. Why so? Has our Centre Of Excellence been busy elsewhere producing mediocrity? It's not good enough...ffs!
Did you just refer to yourself in the 3rd person?Except one guy. Hindy111 has been praying Smith for a while.

They were the best two wingers we had ffs. Just like they are again this year.Sorry delboy, those two wingers were all but woeful last season and should of been dropped at some stage.
Some injuries hurt more than others. When you have to pick Brad Takairangi in the centres you know your depth is poor. It's why we signed Opacic.Losing mennings was far from ideal, but not sure a team in the history of the nrl has had the perfect campaign. There’s always injuries.
Merkins were grasping for answers because they couldn't accept that Souths just had a better team than we did. They were favorites on the day and shorter premiership odds than us at the start of the year. If both teams were at full strength I would still back them to beat us. There's no player we could drop to make our team better than Souths. We not only need to play our best but we need to hope their injuries are worse, or they're just having an off day. After the south’s semi final loss, Wayne Bennett even criticized the team and BA. I don’t think one person here disagreed with WB at the time.
