I actually think BA is the sort of coach that focuses a lot on those little attention to detail, effort issues. If we weren’t focusing on them in games I doubt it was because BA hadn’t thought to tell them to compete on every play.

He’s not the sort of coach to come up with a Warren Ryan (or even Brian Smith) style game plan where he clearly out coaches the opposition, but then I don’t see a lot of coaches doing that at the moment.

Where I think he’s still learning is in the use of the bench.
It's a bench. You sit on it. Not that hard.

And who signed those bench middle forwards?
Who signed the Roosters bench players that shat themselves against us on the weekend? Mate, every team has backup players, and the more of them in your 17 on game day the worse you're going to play. You're carrying on as if clubs should be able to fit 30 first graders under the cap.

No. But u blame our loss on injuries. Every team has injuries. It’s the nature of the beast
That's right, and it's why the Roosters went out in straight sets last year. Or do you think it's Robinson's fault? Some injury tolls are worse than others. I can't believe you even need this explained to you.

I'm sure he'd love four first graders on the bench every week, but even the top coaches don't trust all their bench players with long minutes.

I think some of BA's emotion came not only from the fact that his eldest had his (Jake's) dream come true but also because Jake made Brad's dream come true. Remember that BA was a Parra Junior who didn't make it into the NRL.
He tried but was deemed too small and from memory made it to the Reggies before deciding to move to the Sth Coast and Captain/Coach Bateman's Bay. From there his path was as a coach and so to have your eldest son reach a level you dreamt about for yourself would invoke a mass of emotions.
