Do you remember Kearney? That was clueless and a monumental f**k up at all levels!!

Since 2017, we have missed the finals once (including this year), i would hardly call him clueless. This is where you lose people with your comments.

Does he have the ability to get us to the next level? History is suggesting that he does not, but calling him clueless is hilarious.

We haven't won a comp for 36 years because our management (and fan, board election votes to an extent) at all levels let us down for so long until it all came to a head in 2016 and we were given a clean slate.

We didn't have the luxury of brining in Uncle Wayne, Bellamy or Robinson who are clearly top tier coaches but they also have teams who have enormous resources and we simply don't have that and i'll tell you it is the failures of the past as to why we don't have those resources because if we had been more successful we would probably be as loaded as those clubs.
Would you say he's clueless in being able to get us to the next level then?

Just cause we have made the finals doesn't exactly mean anything. Good recruitment has helped, as well as variables such as easy draws, playing better teams during origin, playing teams with players out due to injury, etc....

The fact that they have been knocked out in the finals without even a whimper, shows that they were not good enough to be there to begin with, and only got there due to the reasons mentioned above...so yeah, the bush coach is clueless as clueless can be.....

Oh wait, we beat the broncos in a finals game...

There’s another stat that’s alarming.

In the nrl era, only one coach, that’s coached more than 8 years then jagged a premiership. That’s John Lang. But some of the years he coach were outside the nrl years, so it’s debatable if he qualifies

All the other coaches were either rookies, won one within a few years, or old timers that have one comps over the years (wb, Bellamy and robbo).

The stats indicate Nathan brown, Cleary and BA won’t win a Comp.
In data analytics they call this overfitting. True correlations, but useless.

How many times did he make the finals?
I’m not going to argue that McGregor was a better coach. I’m saying that it’s incredibly rare for a coach to be at the same club for such a long period of time without at least a grand final showing.

Trying to show the difference between statistical relevance and irrelevance. It's difficult with merkins who don't even understand the fundamentals. It's like we're having two different conversations.
Is the irony of what you’re saying lost on you?

That finals win set a bunch of records. You might say it was lucky we faced the Broncos who were on a downward trajectory, but then how lucky were we to face the Storm every single time we made the finals? They were premiers in two of those years.

Agreed, but I don't think it's relevant.

Well we can't both be right. If only one of us is wrong I'm tipping it isn't me. Ultimately an assessment is just an opinion, but it's backed up with experience and evidence. You wouldn't compare Arthur with Ricky Stuart but you'll compare him with McGregor based on one tenuous correlation. And then you accuse me of making bad faith arguments.
