Maybe we should sign the giant pumpkin to a contract? that way our defence can spread out more. I think it may actually offer more in attack than morts and robson as well

Anything is worth a shot. We can put golden tickets in the showbags.
Where would Charlie Bucket be now without Willie Wonka?

Who know's??
Willie Wonka was a fake. He gave the factory away under false pretences, and unknown to most, then sued the arse off the kid and his whiney grand dad to get it back.
It's what I've heard anyway.
An Oompah Loompah told me.

I actually rate Sandow *shrugs*. I'd welcome him.

I also agree with Poupou - we need those types of players that everyone loves to hate. They have the fire in the belly and the spirit to win.

I'm on the fence on this one.

Like I said, it all depends on who we'd sign to partner him in the halves.

If Kearney is thinking of a Mortimer-Sandow partnership we are doomed....

For mine, it's all about his attitude and the way he applies himself to the game.

He lets himself down by being an arrogant little turd that enjoys carrying on like a tool and it shows when he has a few shockers here and there.

TBH, I don't have the confidence that he'll get rid of it when he comes to Parra, although working alongside Hindy could work some wonders. I'm kinda split 50/50 on whether to give him money or not, renowned asshole but quite the genuine talent I admit.

But isn't that the whole Souths team in general. They seem to play with no real direction ofr plan where they want to be. Seems very much a disoganised rabble.

I think this offer to Sandow rules out Cronk and Cooper, unless we have some serious cash to spend you don't make those kinds of offers if that player isn't your preferred option in the halves.

He's probably worth a run, but its really putting all your eggs in one basket. Realistically were not talking to him because he is the best option for our Club, we're talking to him because he is the only option for our Club other than what we already have. The Club is under pressure to sign a half-back and this is the one and only option they have got.

I think Chris Sandow will be like having Feleti Mateo on Nitrous....He is a special for taking the wrong high risk option at the wrong time....

Well, at least it wont be boring

We have more chance of winning the comp this year than signing Copper Cronk or Quade Cooper anytime in the future.....

I doubt Sandow is the "preferred" option...He is the "only" option other than what is playing at our Club at the moment. Chris Sandow is in the right place at the right time. The only first grade standard half-back currently off contract....The biggest issue for Sandow is that his Club is basically on the edge of their salary cap and no room to offer him anything substantial...

Osborne ruled out Cooper a few weeks ago & I think the coin his management would be looking for would be $500k plus, Cronk was always a long shot with him still having a contract.

I think Cronk's definitely out, but Cooper might still be plan B (after Sandow).

Cooper's potentially a better player than Sandow (potentially as good as Thurston and Marshall) but he'll want well over $600k or $700k a year to come to league, and that's a lot of money for a bloke who won't even be close to his best in his first year while he adjusts to the game.

It's a big risk making him first choice which is why I think we've gone for Sandow. At least we know he can play, and he can be effective straight away.

Also leaves some change to get another couple of players in.

We have money - and big money. We need to spend it on a big player like Cronk - spend $400K a year on him, he is worth it.

I would say he wouldnt be on alot less than $400k at Melbourne and he is bound to be upgraded from that for his next Melbourne contract.

You're kidding yourself if you're offering C Cronk less than $500k a season

Osborne ruled out Quade Cooper just a week or two ago... makes sense really as he's not going to make up his mind until after the WC which leaves it too late for a backup plan if he says so. Cronk still has two years to run on his contract, so while there has been rumours from the "other site" he has a get out clause those are just rumours chances are he doesn't.

Probably more like 700k... he's managed by Khoder Nassar remember.

Agree guys, I knew about that but I was just saying, I think if there was any lingering doubts, they are probably gone now. We just have to accept that it looks like Sandow is our best option.

I just hope that we aren't being used as leverage again....if that turns out to be the case I will vomit.

As long he is willing to follow Kearney's structure I think he will be fine as Sandow at the same time still has the individual brilliance. At the moment Sandow still looks pretty good despite Johnny Langs coaching.

I should've wrote $500k plus third party deals, Cooper would need a new manager anyway to play in the NRL as Nassar isn't a NRL registered manager.

Which makes it quite impossible to even negotiate with him as he's probably happy with Nassar.
