Not at all. A half with a good long kick suits the territory/possession game. And even when playing that way you need someone with spark to add a bit of X factor. Sandow got a lot less ball in 2012 - he was just used after a (rare) quick play-the-ball or on the last tackle. Plus near the opposition line because nobody else had any ideas either with Hayne out injured.
Under Arthur, Sandow gets a lot more ball because we repeatedly attack the edges. That gives him more scope to make stupid decisions.
I think he was signed because he wore jumper number 7 and Kearney wanted a better number 7 than what he had. He's been rubbish since he got here. To be honest he wasn't much better at Souths and was always doomed to fail under the immense scutiny that is put on Parra and it's halves.
I said at the time we were replacing the 16th best half in the NRL in Robson, with the 15th best half in Sandow. My opinion hasn't changed, although in hindsight we were probably better off with Robson for half the price.
