Silly argument..no teams are easy to beat in the NRL..Remember Bulldogs and Parra games ?

How did Dufty go against Sharks, Broncos and other teams..I guess that doesn't count.

Really? Parramatta finished last and Canterbury had a season from hell. Stop making excuses. SGI were flogged by those sides due to McGregor’s inferior player management skills. The 13 other NRL clubs didn’t have trouble in dispensing both, and Saints should have too.

Sharks? It’s a better performed team than those already mentioned, but don’t ignore the fact the matches between the two clubs were played very early BEFORE the Sharks (and others) could blow out preliminary cobwebs.

Sharks finished higher than us on the ladder...Dufty and widdop got us out of jail in one of the Parra games...You state "Stop making Excuses"..What Excuses ??? All I'm doing is pointing out that dufty is not as bad as some on here are making him out to be....its his 1st full year in grade...people need to stop bashing the poor guy..he does have some upside and granted there are things he needs to work on like most players. anyway, lets agree to disagree.

Here's a Quote form Crush in the dufty Thread...

Just on Duftys perceived poor defense, I have been playing around and looking at stats online for 2018.
I got bored and stopped at about 10 fullbacks but the results show Duftys defense is not a major problem compared the other blokes. And Dufty scored more tries than all these blokes with the exception of Holmes who scored 22 tries!
Below is tackle efficiency percentage based on tackles made and missed tackles.
Boyd 82.9%
Teddy 75.7%
Slater 73.1%
Dufty 70.3%
Turbo 69.8%
Mbye 68%
Holmes 67.5%
French 65.2%
RTS 59.1%

What do you think he needs to work on?
He can run. He can pass. He can tackle. He seemed pretty good under the high ball by the end of the season.
I'd say he is already one of the best fullbacks in the competition.

I'm a Dufty Fan...no player is perfect...Tends to sometimes go it alone too much in attack and his defense can improve..this will all come in time. As you correctly stated , he improved as the year progressed.

He’s about as threatening as a wet roll of toilet paper when compared to Hayne.

I say he’s an average trending good, a “c+”

“ capable and not as easily distracted as other players....but needs to work harder.”

Hayne is an A- or B during a slower type game.

2018 tries by fullbacks
Val Holmes 22
Dufty 13
Teddy 9
Turbo 9
Slater 7
French 7
Ponga 6
Mbye 6
Boyd 5
RTS 3

Well that can’t be the proper measure or he would be in origin or whatever?!

We all know he’s prone to the odd sickie and a very high standard of game from him is the exception not the rule.

I will concede that for his age and size etc, he’s well in the zone etc-enormous promise- But I’d take Hayne and maybe move him up to the backs.

I think fullbacks playing in a team that is going poorly will usually get exposed and made to look silly in defence. Dufty really only got exposed when we were playing poorly.

Honestly believe that he needs to stop reading any media write ups about himself , perhaps take a page out of Lomax’s book and become more modest . Undoubtedly is a very good player in the making , merely needs to concentrate more on taking the high ball under pressure.

May be a odd comparison I know , but I recall Hayne playing in his first major game in the NFL in front of a massive-massive crowd and he received a huge up and under from the kickoff . The ball went to the heavens itself and came down to Hayne who . . . dropped the bluudy thing and it killed off any chance the bloke had of being a successful 49’er player - a career killer of a catch , that is how I sometimes feel when Duffy is taking the high ball , I can’t watch .

Still he has what it takes and as I have already said in previous posts just needs a bit more time so as he can mature into one of the Dragons most potent attacking weapons.

So you rate the Dally M stats because they add value to your argument but on the other hand tell me not to believe the stats. Nice one.

What I was doing was showing that the stats dont really tell the whole picture and no I dont rate the Dally M stats. I do rate how RTS plays from the games I have seen.
