I'll give Brian Smith one positive, he took our side to 2 grand finals that, looking back at the rosters we had, we really had no right to be there. He coached me in U/23's at Newtown, and while he wasn't the type of coach I was used to, a lot of players respected him bigtime. I like the idea of 2yrs with a club option. I still think though that Pricey has been given a bum wrap.
Don't give me that dribble that players wont sign because S.Price is coach. that nothing but bullshyt, TALKS CHEAP, MONEY BUYS HOUSES.

I'd like us to stick with Steve Price. Good or bad I think the club will let him see out his contract. They will probably sign someone else for 2014 onward if Pricey doesn't improve early in this season.

Well after last night's effort in Charity Shield I'd say knives will be out sooner rather than later, if 4 months of offseason cant get structure right and players looked lost then the locker room already gone. This should' never have happened, one of the great league teams to go back to untested rookie coach was a huge blunder. As a result we can't attract players, and have a gobbled together bunch of players who judging by last night don't have the passion or smarts to get the job done. Fine past it, Cooper 1 season too long already and Soward mind elsewhere not once ran the ball.

Spoke to Josh Miller recently, he said that Pricey is a good coach and that he was working on new structures in attack and that towards the end of last year it was beginning to gel. Josh Miller is a very nice bloke I'm glad that he has left with his health still in order.

I still give out hope for Soward & Cooper this year, Soward because his future is riding on a new contract and Cooper because well hes a champion, and even at his worst he still brings a lot to the team, and its not as if we have amazing young centres ready to step up.

Cooper and Soward will be important in how far we can progress this year.

Fien is well past it and its a joke he is still with the team regardless of K Stanley another player the club should cut a drift being injured.

It was the options and actually convincing them to join the Dragons that was and is the biggest problem Drinkwater has potential but will he realise it with Price as coach I don't know.

Soward another guy who has gone backwards everyone can see that he refuses to run his kicking is sub par he looks disinterested its embasrrassing.

I think we should be bringing Sheens in. I never though I would say that, but I think he just went stale at the Tigers. He can win another competition!

I'm not anti-Sheens. Most people on this forum loathe the bloke but I'd be pretty happy if the Dragons signed him. Mind you I'd love to see Brownie back as well.

Why no love for Steve Folkes? He’s already with us, knows the club, the players. He’s done no less than Sheens in the last 10 years.

Just putting it out there

We complain about Price's selection of Fien and Josh Miller for example... have a look at some of the strokes of Sheenius over the years. The names John Morris and Daniel Fitzhenry are popular amongst Tigers fans. Then there's his signing of Braith Anasta. He is finished

If there is a problem with the current coach, Folkes is part of the problem.. If we have to change price we should also change folkes as well, and IMHO if the price plan fails, doust needs to go as well...

Brownie is now ready

Loyal Dragon, Brownie's looking a bit shaky at St Helens. Lost again on the weekend. Love him and all. But no. No advance on Price.

If we go 0-4, hate to say it, but I'd go Sheens on a three year contract starting from immediately after the ANZAC test with Folkes as interim until then. I'd be giving the new coach the cheque book from the moment Price is relieved however. I think 0-4 would call for a desperate response.

All hypothetical. But there you go.

Godz, all unarguable. The only thing I can say is he's experienced, he does bring a clear vision and he's the current national coach so he carries a bit of market capital. Fully agree that I'm clutching at straws. I just reckon that if the season starts disastrously we need to hit the market and with no stand outs in the Super League he's the only option I can see that's available.

I know you think Price deserves a full season, and there's a good and reasonable case to be made for that. But if things fell apart, like really fell apart -- 0 and 7 say, Soward in the Cutters, damaging leaks to the press from players and agents, Drinkwater proving an obvious bust, Doust coming out and giving Price the full "vote of confidence" -- who do you reckon could be trusted to steady the ship and rebuild? Who could repeat Smith '91 for example?

It's a question that's troubling me.
