Sheens has clout no doubt and would attract some heavyweight players, that is of course if we allow him to retain his Australian coaching position...dont forget Folkes worked with Sheens at Wests as well so i reckon he would probably stay.

Signing Tim Sheens would be an absolute dud move. He is already employed as the Kangaroos coach and personally i would prefer a coach who's sole interest is the club. Tim Sheens is actually a good guy and does have a solid knowledge of the game i was fortunate enough to get first hand experience, however the fact that he has only made the finals 3 times in the last 14 years can't be overlooked.

Who could repeat Smith '91 for example?
I know you're fond of comparing our current situation to the plight of the late 80's, but I think it's an overreaction. However, to follow your analogy... Brian Smith was still a young highly rated coach on the up and up, and was a masterstroke appointment. Tim Sheens' career peak is a fading speck in his rear view mirror. If your doomsday-like scenario unfolds, and I don't expect it will, I'd be more inclined to go after Smith than Sheens, since he has experience in the re-building caper and has carved something of a niche as a specialist in that department. That's if it was a choice between those two. In reality there are other options and I'd be exploring them

Dude, who are those other options though? I can see everything you're saying about Sheens. If it's Sheens vs Smith in a doomsday scenario though, I go for Sheens because he's got less public baggage and, would help us a bit more on the player market (where I think we need to be shopping like its 1983). And I love Smith because, you're right, I was scarred by the eighties.

But if we rule out Smith and Sheens (in the doomsday scenario), who? Daniel Anderson? Tony Smith? Or is there an assistant somewhere? Or do we tap up Maguire? Or what?

It gets worse because I think that all of the players on the market in 2013 are pretty crap too, except for one that I personally wouldn't touch and who'd be forty two or whatever at the end of his whole-of-salary-cap five year contract.

Homes I hope I am over reacting.

We complain about Price's selection of Fien and Josh Miller for example... have a look at some of the strokes of Sheenius over the years. The names John Morris and Daniel Fitzhenry are popular amongst Tigers fans. Then there's his signing of Braith Anasta. He is finished

yep and 500k a season for Adam Blair.... forcing cap problems for the club

Sheens recruitment policy is no better than what we currently have..poor at best.

Tony Smith and Daniel Anderson as you have mentioned are the two i would consider.. Smith is very astute and did some really good things with the GB/England team recently..

Mick Potter was preferred option but the Tigers grabbed him.

If Pricey doesn't go any good, Doust should throw that Bellamy money at Stone or Anderson.

Not all of it, but a good chunk of it.

Anderson - Folkes may have to be care taker coach until 2014, due to his contract (which I have no idea how it's drafted).

Stone - Is ripe for the picking. Here Stoney, here Stoney Stoney. You don't wike working under Wayne do you. We give you good money Stoney. Here boy, here boy...

I am scarred by the 90s and therefore would dread seeing Smith back..

Stone??? Why would we go after him, I don't think he proven anything!

Anderson, well I am not really sure, what's the diff between him and stone??

Sheens, would like to see him as a coaching director or in recruitment role, football manager sort of thing.. Price to stay on if this is the case..

Anderson for me. Experienced at NRL level, good results at each club on his CV, still young enough in the coaching game, and his work as a refs boss is a bonus (a coaches influence over referees is almost as important as a coaches influence in the player market). I thought Parra made a mistake in dumping him, but then again no-one else has rushed to sign him up... so maybe there's something we don't know that club bosses do? On the surface he seems the best choice to me, way better than Sheens

Of course, the best case is that Price surprises us all and his performances demand another gig

I don't think the money would even have to be that good for Stone.

I think stone would jump at any opportunity to coach first grade again.

I'm surprised the Tigers or Parra didn't have a go at him before nabbing their respective coaches.

Well my latest mail is that the club thinks highly of Brown.
Price has 5 games to impressive the powers to be.
On Bellamy, the night before he signed with Melbourne he was coming to the Dragons, had earlier looked at a house at Coogee, didn't want to live in Wollongong, very close, however a last minute decision to stay!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: PMSL!!!

Como Connection, you've got balls mate, I'll give you that!

Nah, just stirring you dude.

Elias - Yeah I was surprised others didn't go for him either. I reckon he'd be chomping at the bit for another top job.

JBG - Stone has NRL experience, got a Knights squad to the Finals which Bennett couldn't, and is coming off a two year stint fine tuning his skills under Wayne.

Stone is Price all over again.

I would be happy with Daniel Anderson to an extent, although I have heard that the problems stem from player/coach relationships.

The other issue would be his ability to attract players. The squads he had at Parramatta and the Warriors were already established when he arrived. He doesn't have the pulling power of Sheens who has coached the National team.

dont get Tony confused with Brian... yes they are brothers however Brian was coach at the dragons.. his brother Tony never coached us but was playing five eighth whilst Brian was coach...

I'm just hyper glad that Como Connection is lining up The Return of Brownie. That was my worst fear until CC basically just ruled it out.

Homes as soon as Brownie turns his back on that house in Coogee at the very last minute, could you please convince your well connected club insiders to line up Mary McGrenor for the job?

All right, you've convinced me. I'll settle for either of those scenarios. Maybe Daniel Anderson could be the second coming of David Waite.
