Drop him

Hi.

New to forum- life long Magpies fan.

Marshall? I'm all for dropping him to regain form and confidence (hopefully) but what are the options if this is done?

Morris?- qualified maybe
Moltzen?- yes, worht a good look at how he performs at 5/8.
Halatau?- maybe

Not a very strong alternate line up there.

Morris may be OK, after all he was a 5/8 he was never a 1/2 before the WT's inspired signing of him. I'm not anti-Morris- just he has never been a 1/2 and will never be a 1/2- give it up Sheens. Give the poor bugger a chance to get some credit playing in his natural position rather than the bagging he has got for over a year.

Moltzen / Halatau- I'm open to them trying for it if they want to.

I think re-signing Marshall this early in season before his fitness and mental state are certasin was a bad mistake.

Welcome.

My old man thinks similarly, reckons he's a shot bird and we should never have re-signed him.

I think that the bloke needs something, hopefully he'll get amongst it on Saturday night and put his demons to rest.

He needs one thing to click for him and he'll be right
He is a once in a generation player
Off his back, support the kid and we'll be right
Imagine him firing again in the next few months with Head beside him and Hodgo chiming in off Farah at dummy half
It's mouth watering

i tend to agress that we shouldnt of extended the contract at this stage. Although if we do win a premiership this year or he gains some confidence and improves we will all be praising him, i dont think its a win win arguement. Fair enuf the guy took us to a premiership, but it wasnt just him, 16 other players that year that played awesome.

He's seen more games than you've shot loads into the palm of your hand skirt.

Up until last night, more than a few people would have agreed with him.

Dropping would have been a bit much. Sheens has made it clear in many ways that Marshall's mental and physical game is slowly building up and he has continued to progress and correct errors from each outing.

That said. If one were to view the Roosters game as an isolated one the call to drop him may have seemed fair and IMHO a few more games like that would have sen him bench bound

He got the same result against a piss-weak Cowboys last night, as I already said earlier in the thread. He ran the first time he touched the ball lasty night, he didn't run against Easts at all.

Tell me that wasn't us v a PL side last night...

Who said the option was John Morris?

You're enamoured with him, not me.

You're missing the whole point, again. So, do we really have to go there again?

You'll be favourite though, you have help. Where is the online missus anyway?

The severely undermanned Cowboys may be just what he need to implement his running game from now on.

Another test for everyone against Parra. Especially considering our forward stocks continue to plummet

As good as Payten is in every department it is still a player coming back from a spell with no match fitness against a Parramatta side which last night rediscovered the running game that put us to the sword in 2007

If he doesn't run, like against Easts, we're stuffed. They just let him run sideways and they just picked off the runners with ease. Parra will kill us if he doesn't take the line on and put them in two minds.

When he ran in the second ruck of the night last night, I knew it was going to be different.

Maybe his little mate in this thread told him about me and he wanted to prove me wrong? LOL
