Sharp is the savior. He called in the administrators.
Glad your happy then with Hadley, Fitz and co running the club through the media and a new coach and board every second year claiming to be the saviour. Along with several members of the squad being paid to play with other clubs…..and coach unable to have a squad of 30……

For me, I rather like the eels now, being a considered a contender every year. While when ever a new coach is appointed he will inherited a quality squad, decent cap management to make changes to suit him and time to get results…..

ah really shows how far we have come….gee the board is doing ok ….

So imagine a world where an ineffective start can be countered by injecting some variation or quality off the bench?

Perhaps if Niukore was played in the second row (his natural position), then Papali'i could replace one of the props at that same 22 minute mark to provide an injection of energy and power!

Perhaps we could then have Kaufusi/Nrown/Rodwell as the other replacement prop for a 25 minute stint.

Perhaps we could have an actual second rower on the bench like El Zakhem or Cartwright for these exact kinds of games where something other than bash and barge is needed t pull us out of a hole?

Perhaps if we had an actual utility on the bench like Hands, or an experienced hooker like Rein, we might be able to spell Reed for 20 minutes and see if a fresh player could change the course.....but instead we have a 19 year old half whose own father knows he is not ready for first grade (witness the garbage time), meaning that the bench spot appears to currently merely be nothing more than a way for the coach to get his son a first grade game on the resume!

But hey, it would only take a football brain to see that and your analysis is limited to cherry picked statistics in mindless defence of the status quo....so much so that you are now defending a world where no real bench options is the best course in a game!

And no, before you mislabel and attempt to deflect, this isn't an attack on JA, it is a complete and considered criticism of a woeful bench strategy.

I don't think Niukore is any more a natural second rower than Papali'i. The latter is the better player so if we play him out wide we get more runs out of him. Neither is a good defender on the edges.

If his defence is poor on the edges, then why was he such an effective back up centre? Because of his sparkling attack? I seem to recall you yourself defending his selection in the centres as one of defensive necessity....

The fact is he is quite a good edge defender....and you yourself have frequently attributed our edge defence issues to Papali'i's issues with edge defence.

But feel free to retract that position as and when it suits your argument du jour....

Well said Lionel Hutz.

Actually, it was a submission and supporting evidence was provided to support the contention.

Nice call though.

That we can posit what he thinks based on the very limited minutes he provides Jakob in garbage time.

there is no strategic benefit to his use, hence we can theorise that he doesn't think he is ready for first grade.

Despite your childish attempts to diminish and deride my point, we can all only theorise based on the information available.

It is my submission that BA's use of his on betrays his belief that his son isn't ready for first grade.

I accept you disagree, but at least put forward some evidence or information that supports an opposing view, rather than just mock and deride.

It’s all well and good we’ve done ok over the past few years. I’d really like us to win a comp before I die. I’m 44 and I’m not even sure that’ll happen. Ask yourself do you honestly think we’ll be winning one under Ba?
