Actually, the wingers they put in can replicate it. Taruva has only been in the team this year but in previous years, the wingers could still ruck it out well. And they aren't big physically

Its about intent. Ppl like sivo dont have the intent except near the try lines
I guess the ones that can't, go play at parra

Yep...That's what they do. All the real good ones are yapping all the time and telling their players where to go and fill or move to gaps.

Slater was the master of this and many others have been great too. Gutho is a champion at this, it's just that no one listens to him.

Part of me hopes that Gutho goes to a winning team when his deal is up, and gets a genuine shot at a Premiership, because he deserves it.

I could have said that 2 years ago tbh.

It's been quite noticeable for ages JFH and Leota especially do all there main stuff in defence.

To'o, Edwards and the other winger do the grunt work carting the ball out which conserves the big men energy to pounce when cleary pins the ball in the corner and Penrith can bash them there.

They also have that tackling technique where one picks the feet up and the other drives them back 4-5 metres. Hence gaining a dominant tackle and all the momentum.
So we all know this about their wingers and fullback. Why don't teams number up and absolutely smash the shit out of them.
Surely this would put them off their game???

The thing about players with footwork is that it's very difficult to get bodies in front of them.

Burty was a solid citizen but when did he deliver in a big moment.

That's my knock on him.

May sound harsh but it's probably reality

When has an Eel ever stood up in a big moment?? Haven't seen it in my 20 years supporting the club

The Parramatta Eels and Canterbury Bulldogs have been successful in expanding their fan base, thanks to Western Sydney’s significant population growth. According to a study by Roy Morgan Research, the Parramatta Eels are Sydney’s most supported NRL (National Rugby League) club, while the Bulldogs have experienced the fastest growth in their supporter base.

One of the main factors contributing to the rising popularity of both clubs is the rapid housing development in their traditional heartland. These regions, known for their larger supply of newly built properties, expanding infrastructure, and job opportunities, are attracting a considerable number of newly arrived migrants, which in turn is bolstering the fan base for the teams.

The Parramatta Eels, in particular, have seen a surge in support from the Indian community. The club reported that one in five of their supporters were born overseas, with those of Indian origin being among the fastest-growing demographic. Census data reveals that the Greater Parramatta region is one of the country’s most popular areas for Indian-born migrants.

The Eels experienced a 30% increase in their supporter base over the past year, adding approximately 140,000 fans. This growth rate was the second highest among all clubs, just behind the Canterbury Bulldogs, who saw a 33.6% increase.

Despite their success on the field, the Penrith Panthers’ recent achievements have not translated into as many new fans in comparison to other clubs located in faster-growing areas. However, the Panthers remain a popular team, with the research naming them as one of the top five most supported teams in Sydney.

In terms of nationwide support, the Melbourne Storm emerged as the most supported club in the country, boasting a reported 1.19 million fans. The Brisbane Broncos, despite being the losing grand finalists, came in second place with 1.15 million fans.

Overall, the support for NRL clubs has grown significantly, even in the face of recent upheavals including the pandemic. Fourteen out of sixteen continuing clubs have experienced an increase in support compared to 2022.

In addition to the established clubs, the Dolphins, a new team based in the northern Brisbane suburb of Redcliffe, has quickly gained popularity. Since their debut in the NRL six months ago, they have attracted the support of 232,000 Australians, making them the third most popular Queensland club.

Just need to convert 1% of Indias population to being Parra fans to become the richest club in the NRL.

Yeah rebrand ourselves to the Parramatta Super Kings with the colours blue and gold remain the same.

We would be an instant powerhouse and the Man City of the NRL.

Get on it Jimmy Sarantinos ffs.

Let's make Parra Great Again.
You might have to bump this in an hour or so. It would be a bit early for Jimmy Sparkles.

Should also change the name to Parramatta-Harris Park like Canterbury-Bankstown.
