There is a lot of chatter about Arthur, but if we are honest, Cleary is benefitting from the structure etc set up by Cameron, Jones and dare I mention the name Gould. Yep, Eels are behind the Riff in that respect, but starting to develop the system , lots of time needed to overcome the problems previous admin and coaches put up.

BA has had ten years, there should be a thriving and successful football program here at Parramatta. I don't see it.

Availability will help for sure, I am sure every team outside of the Dragons would be thinking the same.

It is a sore point on here but how many players does Arthur develop?

The only one still around from that gun NYC team a few years back is Brown, To be fair he is an elite half. Outside of him?

Most guys come across as pretty handy players already, To be top 4 Dunster/Russell need to take a leap forward.

Too many holes needing to be filled particularly in the backline but I just too many teams being better. There is about 10 teams that look good enough for the top 4 on paper.

Being under the radar might be a good thing for the squa

You are a Panthers fan how many players does Cleary the head coach develop compared to Cleary the half and the assistant coaches...

I will tell you the latter do more of the development then the head coach as it's thier job...

Maybe Mitch can nail those clutch goals this time around. How would our 2023 season have looked if he kicked 80%+ consistently?
He averaged 79.3% in 2023, 69 from 87. If he kicked one more goal he would have averaged over 80% for the season.

I think you know which matches whe lost early in the year because of his shit goal kicking. Try Rnd 2 and 3.

Yep, so does that make it a great decision to lock in a long term deal @ 1.25m a year???
Look it's a tough one it's probably a touch too much.

But what other options are out there. Ethan Sanders is no guarantee no matter how much wraps are on him. Market is bare with quality halfbacks. Moses is in top 4/5.

Plus we have what spent 6 and half years with Mitch now.

I suppose we may as well live or die with him now we have spent all the time investing in him. It would be our luck he left and won a comp somewhere else.

Halfbacks get better as they get older. I reckon DCE is playing better now then he was at 28/29 years old around 5 or 6 years ago.

Since we went on this run

Barrett, Ciraldo and Webster have left the set up and still plodders come here and lift.

That has always been Ivan's strength even with bad teams.

That is where the good coaches are strong and where Arthur seems to lack

Ciraldo and Webster only recently left since all these players have been developed same as Barrett he was there when Cleary and Lui where coming through.

Its the system and team of coaches that develop these players not 1 coach.

Arthur has done fine with the resources he has as a head coach.

He probably said, I've said this in the past few years but it hasnt worked but it is bound to work some time. If it takes 100 attempts, it will take 100 attempts. I am sure of it.... now go hide carty's bag

Who's responsible for creating, implementing, improving and maintaining "the system", if not the head coach (of 10-12 years)?

Maybe this mysterious "system" that pre-dates and out-lasts ten year head coaches is somehow the job of that bunch of random men in suits that meet once a month and change positions every three years... that's make sense!

I'm sure I've heard head coaches talk about their systems, or the system they'll bring into their new clubs - but at Parra for some reason "the system" is never the coach's fault or responsibility...
