Points difference (after yesterday) has us out of the 8, but sharing the same points with positions 7 & 8. we have beaten teams 5, 6 & 7.

Outplayed yesterday, compounded with bad luck in various calls and then injuries. Still a long season plenty more fight to be fought.

some of the worst refereeing I've ever seen, really cannot believe some of those decisions

The Brown shot on Napa was a disgrace. Then late in the second half we get penalised for a high shot for a man laying on the ground, then Guth in the next 6 is off for a HIA but no penalty cause he had dropped 6 inches....

Those two late tries to Ferguson were both dropped. at best case he only gets one.

Wonder if JWH gets a suspension for the late shot on Vave, I believe we have been suspended twice this year for similar?

What a disaster. I knew the week off didn't help us but that's no excuse to lose by 48-10. I really didn't expect that. Some of the missed tackles were atrocious, its like we were a different team to when we beat the Cowboys and Penrith. Norman and Gutherson coming off obviously didn't help towards the end but that first half I don't know what happened. Its going to be a big loss without Norman but they need to do a lot better against Canberra.

Tepai has not one line break all season. For a guy who plays a lot of minutes and is meant to be the next big thing that is pretty terrible. How many other backrowers playing a lot of minutes would have a stat like that? Terribly over rated

Yep - I still have no idea what he offers the side. Seems like a great guy and is popular amongst his team mates - but he doesn't bend the line, rarely offloads, hasn't scored a try in years and has no try assists. What is his role supposed to be?

Gee, we killed the Cowboys the other week defensively, yet this week they got over probably one of the better packs in the dogs!!

So it's not like our pack can't compete with the better packs!!

Our biggest problem with our pack is inconsistency!! And that comes down to ball control!!

Moeroa doesn't offload / we don't throw a stupid pass - which both lead to tries, the out come could be different!!

We had 39% of ball and lost two backs in the last 20!!!

In every match we have lost this year, we have been hammered in the possession stat. There are reasons why we have such little possession in games but it doesn't seem to be something we can fix. Too many penalties, too few repeat sets, too much dropped ball. It is killing us it really is.

The Saints game is the only match we have won convincingly this season.

Has Mau been below par this year?

Yes - he occasionally comes up with some stunning plays, but most of the time he does not offer a lot imo.

IF BA rated Mannah why does our captain and leading PROP get 25mins. Don't give me the bullshit cause we behind. So our leading prop is only good when winning? Seriously we need 2 new props to replace Alvaro and this guy. Mannah on bench at best.

Yes Mannah is becoming a problem. Not a captains arsehole and BA agrees because he made Foran captain last year and then was forced to give it back to Tim. He needs to be cut loose at the end of season.

Meanwhile, Foran is killing it and will take the Bulldogs to new heights next year. We hardly lost a game he played for us but f**k his 4 year contract - lets piss him off because he has issues. fmd. Weak as piss this club sometimes. I know I should move on. Just annoys the crap out of me that we now have all sorts of spine problems.

You don't need to buy anything. Just admit you don't have a counter argument and go on your way.

It's your opinion that spine players and edge forwards are more important, yet the Cowboys have really only gone from being Premiership contenders to not Premiership contenders due to the lack of middle forwards and the Storm, with the best spine and edge forwards they can put on the field, can let in the most points any team has in a losing team in the history of the sport with the loss of only two middle forwards, so it's my opinion that middle forwards are still important.

How about showing the statistics off all players who have been missing. Everyone has injuries, only the mentally weak ones will use it as an excuse.

The Scott, Thurston, Granville and Cooteless Cowboys and bumbling Panthers were a lot easier to beat than a rampaging genuine title contender in the Roosters.

To be honest, if the Raiders play like they did against us in Canberra the other week, I see the same coming this weekend and that would be whether Norman was in the team or not.

And neither of those teams will win any comps this year either.

If I'm not mistaken we were down 14-0 today and it wasn't not being able to hold the ball to that point. The total capitulation of 48-10 might have been because we couldn't hold onto the ball, but all that meant was that we gave ourselves no chance after being down 14-0.
neither of those teams? talking about melb and broncos or dragons and manly?

He is our best defensive forward.

At least Tepai has not peaked yet as he is still growing physically and mentally.

All credit to him and his achievements, but Mannah peaked the year he played Origin and is somehow a captain seven years later.

I disagree. They still have plenty of NRL quality middle forwards, and at full strength they are still contenders.
and the Storm, with the best spine and edge forwards they can put on the field, can let in the most points any team has in a losing team in the history of the sport with the loss of only two middle forwards, so it's my opinion that middle forwards are still important.
One gimmick stat from a single game means nothing. However I agree that middle forwards are important. My point is that teams have so many of NRL quality that the loss of one is easy to cover.
How about showing the statistics off all players who have been missing.
Go on then.
Everyone has injuries, only the mentally weak ones will use it as an excuse.
Injured players don't need to make excuses because they're not on the field. I'm sure their replacements are all doing their best and not making excuses either.

So you see, talking like you're some kind of tough merkin refusing to make excuses contributes nothing to the discussion. You claim our side isn't good enough (and I agree it's not good enough to win the comp, whatever you think it's not good enough for) which is in itself an excuse. Whether we don't have good enough players because they're not contracted to us or because they're injured it's still an excuse. IMO De Gois (defence), French and Edwards (attack) have been significant losses for us this year, and not suitably replaceable.

Got to play field position against Canberra and improve that right side defence. Even with Norman out, as long as someone has a decent kicking game putting pressure on Canberra's back 3.

Also our attitude up front needs to be a lot better.

We just have to hope the Raiders don't bring their best game, then we'll be in with a shot.

If we can sign Moses today/tomorrow, I note Robson came back last week for Wenty. I'd be confident that Moses and Robson combined could do a job as good as Norman and Smith.

The timing couldn't be better if Moses came over ASAP, just like when we signed Robson when Norman was suspended.
