STG are proceeding towards privatization with a 50% sale to the merkin who owns WIN. Win Corp have casting vote at board level.

This has all come about because of unserviceable debt. They owe the WIN guy $700k and the NRL $6.5M.

Stability is managed by..

“Reserved matters” need 75 per cent or more of the WIN and St George board members to agree to reduce the amount of games played at WIN Stadium or Jubilee Oval and change the club’s constitution. While a unanimous vote is required — including from Illawarra’s representative — to change the club’s name, logo or colours or relocate the club from NSW.

So if the report goes back we have less of an infraction and the club is under the cap, whats to bet the NRL goes for a four point penalty, which we can't take to the appeals committee and everyone gets to save face and we move on.

The next question is how many of the TPA's are legal or not. The TPA's that are legal should be removed fro the cap and then we have to see where we sit in relation to the cap.

Assuming that we are actually guilty of some of the breaches, that would not be an unreasonable outcome given our past behaviour in this area.

I can't see this dropping to a 4 point penalty ... the NRL has made too big a thing of this - 4 points is practically nothing .... there has to be some reasonable evidence for them to have tried to label it on the scale they have.

I would be happy with an 8 point penalty

If it goes down to 4 points then i reckon that would be accompanied by heads seriously rolling at NRL headquarters - and head honcho greenburg would lose so much credibility

Club first. Team second. Individual third.
he has that backwards TEAM should come before everything else before the club, before individuals, before agendas, before leaks, before backstabbing.

if a few more people at this club started thinking about how they could help make the team better instead of worrying about themselves we might start going somewhere

A lot of our 'big gun' players for this season would be taking up f**k all of the cap.

Semi
Junior
Manu
Gutherson
Wicks
Tepai
De gois
Alvaro
Terepo
Edwards
Gower

You can't tell me we are over because of the others

That's what shits me most. A lot to of these guys are here because we developed them or gave them a second chance. Just because their stocks are soaring doesn't mean we assembled them illegally.

Gee I'm getting annoyed with the media / commentators suggesting it isn't fair that to get us back under the cap all we may need to do us have Watmough retire especially as he has played this year. f**k it aren't our fault he injured himself !!!

The goose Zobra was on 2ky this morning saying we won't be playing for points at all this year as other clubs aren't happy with us just being able to retire Watmough to get back under.

Didn't hear any clubs complaining that we were disadvantaged early in the year when we had a $750k player sitting on the sideline. Or they were lucky to be playing us with such a large amount of cap space on the sideline.

Lol. Yeah it makes sense he should be included. Hasn't played a game in almost 12 months. Not sure who is running the game atm.

From day one I smelt a rat.

From day one there were idiots calling for the instant worship of the supreme leader Greenburg's decision.

Anyone attending the game, don't be stupid in any signage or protest. The issue that Eels fans invested in THIS season should be focusing on is an issue of natural justice being prevented, not that the "evil" board should stand down.

I highly doubt 5 men including some with a respectable past and history with the Eels colluded to bring down the club. They were careless but not nearly as careless as the supreme leader made them out to be.

The fight is the injustice of the the NRL's intentional or careless leaks to the media that preempted public opinion so they could come down as strong as possible on a crime that may not even match the charge sheet.

Why would they complain.Do you complain if other teams have players out .Reality is his whole contract for this year should not be reduced from the cap only what he is owed for the rest of the year

Meanwhile we haven't even been able to contest the findings... keep up the mob justice. I feel really sad for the other clubs that have
"legal" third party systems in place that no doubt give them millions in advantage some years. My heart goes out to them.

Not created... NRL always had the ability for deciding points penalties against a club in their competetion for systematically breaking rules - I think it was even raised as a possibility in the Cronulla-Dank situation before being ruled out (because there wasn't evidence that the club i.e. board members & ceo etc knew)?

My point was they could now in theory deduct points even if a team is well under the cap for a single dodgy deal

A code that gives Paulo 8 weeks on the sideline and gives another player 1 or 2 weeks for a similar incident can't have their processes automatically believed.

That would come under whatever rules and precedent are, but I suspect if his insurance claim goes back to Feb, that's when he'll come off cap. Nrl only calculate cap spending at end of year or when determining compliance, if they're penalising us now on prospective figures, they need to take into account changes to actual figures. Otherwise guess what, right now us and every other team have only spent roughly half of the cap.

Btw one thing that may irk you even more, some of those illegal tpas theoretically could be treated same way.

you also have those same third party systems in place your board just doesn't know how to use them.
Fact you have one of the biggest junior bases there is.
Fact you have one of the biggest fan bases there is. I can not believe among that fan base there are not many very successful business people who could offer these deals to the club if approached
Parramatta is one of the biggest growing business districts in the country. Get rid of your current board and get people in who can use this advantage that is sitting there

If the insurance on Watmough happened 2 weeks after his injury we would not even be talking about it.
The injury was done in February, he hasn't a game at all this season not even a trial.
But somehow other clubs think it is convenient?
Now that just tells me other clubs think we are a massive threat to their team either making the 8 or winning the premiership and want us out for the finals.

Jimmy smith said on mmm he spoke to someone from the insurance company and was told that watmough had filed in the paperwork back in February and its been sitting there for 3 months.
