Most clubs have players out or carrying injuries that late in the year. But it is rare to play a FB with a broken foot and a halfback needing a shoulder recon.
I think you just don't hear about most of them. Consider all the guys who get injured during the year and then come back. Most of them aren't 100% when they return, and never get to 100% by the end of the season. But the clubs tend to keep it dark.

Plenty of our players in Key Positions have room to improve. Nathan played half the year with 1 arm, tell me he won’t be better.

I don’t really care about windows, curtains or sliding doors.

I just look at the team and see who I think will improve, we have a lot.
But also with the players you're losing it'll be harder on the blokes who are still there. A large part of a player's form is the opportunities provided by his team. In a stronger team everyone gets more opportunities to look good (e.g. more one-on-one chances in attack) and fewer chances to suck (e.g. one-on-one chances in defence). In a weaker team the ratio is obviously skewed the other way.

Obviously younger guys like Cleary are near certainties to keep improving, but it might not be evident because salary cap pressure means he'll be playing in a weaker team.

The only player that we’ve lost that will have any real effect our performance is Burton. Having said that, Burton leaving puts Critta closer to the action, who, in my opinion is a player who will go up another level.

Capes and momo are both solid reliable players but they didn’t really have a great say on how we perform. We will replace them without too much trouble.

I’m super excited to see how May and Tago go, they have been awesome at level they have played so far. They are very capable of stepping up.

Spencer is a beast and he will get more game time this year, I expect him to make his mark this year.

I don’t really know how this relates to Windows, but I think we are in a great position moving forward and I can see no reason why we won’t continue to improve.

Well I'm sure you're still a chance of winning the comp. My point is you might only be a 15% chance whereas last year you were maybe 25% (for example).

Three starting edge defenders is a big loss. Replacing attackers is easier because you just give more ball to the attacking players who are still there.

What you said was fine. When you post on to an opposition board immediately following a loss you’re going to cop some backlash regardless of what you say though. Read the room dude.

So, you are a mature bunch then? Going to cop some 'regardless of what you say'? Hindy's a hero, even if he is regularly accused of being a Panthers fan.

Yeah I agree, but they are being replaced by very good players.

The doomsdayers are at it again. One loss is all it takes. How many games have we lost in the last two years. Sure we have lost some very good players. I am VERY confident we will do well again this year and challenge for the premiership. Some of you , not all need to take a deep breath and trust the processes and coaching staff. We will be fine!

Where did I say we aren't capable of winning the comp? Just need a good injury run.

Say Crichton gets hurt

How many top 8 teams will we beat with Tago/Jennings centres?

What about Martin or Kiks.

Are Chris Smith or Sorensen going to trouble many top 8 sides?

You can't use previous years. The back up guys have barely played

No team gets better and better. The window gets bigger or smaller. Sometimes it shuts completely. The strongest clubs like Melbourne and Easts have the biggest windows and if they do ever shut it's only for a single season. Other clubs like Wests (and Parra pre-2019) might have to wait years for their premiership window to open briefly.

Your window peaked last year and you were lucky enough to win. There were at least five other teams who were also a chance of winning, as there is most years. Parra's window peaks this year and we will also need some luck to win it (as does every premier). Even if you make the top four you need some luck on the day. Two evenly matched teams might as well be a coin toss.

I find it almost amusing folks declaring a premiership window closing. Pundits have been saying this about the Storm for 8 or so years.

Is Penrith's premiership window closing. That is only able to be judged when the season is either mid way or ending. Not before a ball has been kicked for actual points.

Well the Tigers finished as losers and Penrith maintained their f**kwits tag.
Pretty much as both were all year except for that funny evening when the losers flogged the f**kwits.
Feel free if you in Penrith to head to the leagues club.the trophy is on display .you could even get a photo with it .winners are grinners

I didn't say your window has closed, just that it's gotten narrower. Likewise Parra's window will still be open next year but it will be a lot skinnier than this year. I tip us about a 20% chance this year while next year could be less than 10%

They are the strongest club in the game though so it's not a good comparison. At their worst they might still be a 15% chance of winning. In their best year they are probably evens to win the grand final before a ball is kicked. Melbourne is a great place to live. How much less will players take to re-sign and not have to move their wife and kids interstate?

That's not true at all. If Penrith lose in the finals (likely) or have a bunch of injuries and miss the eight (possible) it doesn't mean they were no chance of winning the comp. That's true of other teams as well. Only one team will win it. Does that mean no other team had any chance? It's a simplistic, revisionist way to look at things.

Anyway you said you'd be taking a break for a while. Off you go.

It is unknown at this stage whether Penrith's premiership window is closing. Or not. That is a fact.

In the fullness of time that will be revealed.

Who knew at the beginning of the 2021 season that Burton would make a great centre. In fact gain the 'centre of the year' at the Dally M's.

That Mitchell would lose 6 games or so (exact amount I can't recall) in 2021 for Souths.

Nor that Penrith would gain TPJ for games at the business end of the season.

Or the chooks would have such a dreadful season with injuries either.

Already in the game I've currently watching Wade Graham has gone off with an ankle injury.

The list possibilites for this season, know no end.

Why don't you take your own advice, and leave yourself. Leave @Aliceinwonderland alone.
