We weren't that bad really. Sharks had plenty of field postion in the 1st half and only cam up with 2 tries we none and scored 3 tries.
Sharks really worked the ruck and slowed us down which stopped our offload game.
We let the sharks play the ball too quick and get rolls on, our scrambling was good in defence.
The aiton try from the bomb should have been a penalty, Humble was clearly taken out and the video ref should have been called on the one grothe knocked back in his foot was in the air but the touchie had his flag up, not sure if ben ground inside the ingoal but still video should have been used.
We missed our 2 best backs, they were at full strength.
Sharks 8/10
Eels 7/10
Refs 4/10

Penalty for what? I assume you mean Snowden trying to catch the ball?

Perhaps but Ben Smith clearly grounds the ball on the touch in goal line. Would have been the exact same result.

Just got home from the match and f*cking frustrated with the way it went.

We let them offload too much, sure - but that Maxwell had no idea.

Cronulla's first try was on the back of pinging Mateo for laying over the tackle.

With around ten to go, when Burt busted up the left flank and was tackled on the 5th a metre short of the line, the Sharks were all over him, and a lot longer than what Mateo was done for. No whistle for us.

The next attacking set we had on the line, one of the play the balls, the Sharks were 5 metres in front of their try line, and again no whistle blown.

In the second half, we get 1 measly frigging penatly for a strip, and that useless prick gives them an offside penalty, and turns a blind eye to their infringements. It gave me the sh*ts.

If he was halfway consistent, I think we would have been on the right side of the scoreboard. Just.

I agree.
Horribly inconsistent.
Mateo's penalty should have meant more than 5 penalties against the Sharks the rest of the night ... but nothing.
All I ask is consistency.

Snowden must be very unco if that was a attempt to catch the ball.
yeah looked like ben grounded it on the touch ingoal line, but why didn't they check it? seems like we never get anything with any doubt goto the video ref.
Congrats on the win, you guys pushed the play the ball rules to the limit and got away with it, well done! Finally some one other than the storm, dragons or manly get away with something.
Pity you got us without Hayne and Tahu or the result would have been a different.

Eels lost because of one reason:

This season, when the tigers have won, the eels have lost and vice versa.

Couple of things from this post I want to voice my opinion about -
About the game tonite - we were ordinary. We did not look like the team who won 4 straight weeks. Our fifth tackle options were terrible. We lacked quality halves. Morts was ordinary and so was Keating. We need a decent No 6 if we want Morts as No 7 same way as Lockeyer and Peter Wallace. Humble and Tim Manah was fantastic, especially Tim Manah. He is getting better. Inu was terrible, I am happy he is going. Cayless was ordinary. Hindmasrsh was terrific.
We missed Hayne. I know we lost to sharks in previous encounter but, things were different now. I think Hayne has improved.
I would not blame ref because they are human. Every game has some goof ups by Ref so we cannot blame refs.
if Hayne leaves our club, it will be a big lose but I do not think membership will fall. However if we cannot win GF within next couple of season, we will face the prospect of losing members.

i think the main reason we lost was they just made so much ground each set of six. we rarely with the exception of some runs from Tim Mannah got over the advantage line. Most of our tries were a little lucky. I'm willing to write this game off as being too lethargic after a tough game against manly and missing 2 strike players and move on to next week. I'll say this though i will take a win against manly and a loss the week after as opposed to the other way round any day of the week

they were never going to get penalised tonight after Ricky had a whinge to Finch during the week

hate to say it, but i do think a fair portion of our memberships this year is attributed to Hayne - he really is another revenue stream for us, people i know now support Parra based on Haynes ability - yes people are that fickle unfortunately.

I think we just played horrible. They are definitely our bogie team. I just think at times the logical thing to do was to put a bomb up but we didn't not once. I think we are trying to score off every tackle hence kicking on the 3rd and 4th tackles. It woulda been a different story if Hayne and Tahu was there, But we shoulda won that game.

I dunno where to put this post, so in here it goes lol....

I'm getting sick to death of hearing supporters at the ground abusing the sh*t out of Justin Poore. I thought he played well tonight, and he was unlucky to get called for that knock on.

The guy could make 200m, throw 10 offloads and score a hat trick and some of our so called supporters would still be abusing him.

Gallen gave the nref a huge spray in the first half, stood in foront the whole second half and they seemd frightened to call him offside.

Poore seems to berunning too upright at the line, makes him a target to push nack as he loses leg drive.

Inu should never play anywhere but the wing.

Teams like the Sharks play the hard done by card, and get the calls from sympathetic refs, but we played an ordinary game. Apart from Mannah our props were awful, praise to Cayless for Monday night, not in the game tonight. Poor service from Robson, then he scores a try but he was slow out of dummy half all night, Aiton was basically Sharks best and showed Robson up

What a bunch of soft c**ks. Only a few players played like they really cared.

We just struggle to turn up against them. How do I have issues I'm just sick of some supporters in here bagging the team and players when we play bad AND even find ways to bag players when we win games too that's all in sh*tty at
