Thats surprising considering the ticket site was showing only 500 or so standing tickets left (capacity 19,300). Did 3000 or so paying fans really not turn up?34-16 FT (22-6 at HT)

No idea. That's the attendance reported by BBC. Good news on the ratings though. Peak audience of 844,000 and an average of 741,000.Thats surprising considering the ticket site was showing only 500 or so standing tickets left (capacity 19,300). Did 3000 or so paying fans really not turn up?
One thing I`ve got to give the Poms they`ve really taken the lift and drag back defence to the next level. I hate it, but if you`re going to compete with Oz I suppose it`s essential.Samoa came to wrestle and slow down the ruck, not surprising when you look at the size of them. Ref wanted an open game, they didnt learn.
And no Aussie ref ever did the same for t12 seconds of a 1st Test like Ganson did with Morley.
Remember when Ganson showed no fear or favour in sending off Morley after 12 seconds of the 1st Test in 2003 ? That would never happen with either of those two.And no Aussie ref ever did the same for the Kangaroo's
It's part of playing away. It ads to the mystique and drama of touring England, they are harder to beat over there.Remember when Ganson showed no fear or favour in sending off Morley after 12 seconds of the 1st Test in 2003 ? That would never happen with either of those two.
Tonga hammered last year, Samoan this year, what's the betting Australia include Ashley Klein as part of their touring party in 2025 ? Moore and/or Kendall just cannot be trusted - as Penrith discovered.

Yeah they would. And no Aussie ref would send a Kangaroo off either!
Not a chance, sin bin maybe but thats is.Yeah they would.
Mason wasn't a send-off and thank God it wasn't.Not a chance, sin bin maybe but thats is.
Willie Mason prime example!
Probably watched the way the game is played there, especially big games, and figured that was the best chance of success.Samoa came to wrestle and slow down the ruck, not surprising when you look at the size of them. Ref wanted an open game, they didnt learn.
The game in England is inspired by Don King. It's part of playing away. It ads to the mystique and drama of touring England, they are harder to beat over there.
Similar to India doctoring their pitches to make it almost impossible for visiting cricket teams to win there.
Wayne's brotherThe game in England is inspired by Don King.
It was a easy send off, cheap shot on Fielden after he played the ball, if you think Fielden walking forward mitigates then you condone thuggery, what was worse was the cheap elbow shot on Sean Long well after the ball had gone later the same game!Mason wasn't a send-off and thank God it wasn't.
The ensuing fight when Peacock gave him it back made it a memorable test moment - and fired GB up for their most recent win over Australia. Eighteen years ago.
Has any Kangaroo been sent off by an Aussie ref ever?Nope. They definitely would.
Sounds like a research project for you.Has any Kangaroo been sent off by an Aussie ref ever?
