England should have been penalised a bunch more times with penalties or set restarts. cant only officiate one team

How good was the Siva Tau and England's refusal to be intimidated. Tong v Mikey Lewis was epic way to start the tournament! Probably good job both were on the bench and not starting.

Attendance for game was 15,137 (up 17% on last years game 1 v Tonga)

Game 2 selling well with 17,500 sold so far. all seats at Headingly sold out and only 2,500 standing tickets left. Game 3 v Tonga at same venue last year drew 15,477.

Australia vs New Zealand had an Aussie referee. But the calls were atleast even and he had no problem giving New Zealand a leg up for an extended period of time. Klein is shit IMO. But I would back him over a pommy referee still.

I'm not sure many NZers would agree with that.

They made up a new rule to punish the Kiwis to make up for a slightly different rule being correctly applied. Comedy gold.

If you’re referring to crowding, both penalties were bullshit and the ball carrier was at fault both times. Neither should have been a penalty. If something else I don’t recall it.

New Zealand had a really good run of penalties and set restarts. Unlike Samoa who were given nothing by the referee.

Klein made calls both ways. Unlike the pommy referee who let England do whatever they wanted. Klein is still shit. Just less shit than the pommy referee.

Nah, the Aussie actually connected, the Kiwi didn't. The Roos should have had a player binned for professional fouls too.

We just don't trust your refs and bunker, years as a Warriors fan does not help in that area.

The ref wasn't that bad, I felt like he did let a few of the samoan slow tackles go but he did blow a few questionable 6 again near the try line to England. The fact that Samoa didn't get one 6 again all game is crazy. There were a few times he could've blown the whistle for the samoan side. In saying that the real problem were some of the selections. Milford needs to be dropped for good and send back to Australia this week. Gordon needs to start, Tevaga wasn't too bad because he was tackling everyone but on attack Samoa weren't getting any momentum from his slow passes. Skelton turned into Maumalo this game, doing something great by breaking the line and then turns into Stevie Wonder with a shocking pass. Overall I thought the samoan team showed more promise on attack then the tongans did last year. They need to be better in game 2

Absolutely. No reason they couldn't do it shortly after the NRL draw released.

Not sure what crowds to expect though as the populations are much lower than Fiji. I think 200k Samoa, 100k Tonga or something like that.

It's a shame that the series is only 2 games and there was no warm up by either nation. You can see just how the enthusiasm for the series has ramped up since last week.

Even the Tonga series, whilst crowds weren't amazing, coverage and TV audiences also grew as the series went on.

I think they should organise a game in samoa next year. Rugby Union is dying in samoa and the popularity of League is growing every year there. No doubt the game will be sold out if it was held in samoa. I mean the airport was packed in samoa because the fans wanted to see the Toa Samoa boys. The rugby union boys never got a welcome like that before. If Rugby league takes over samoa we might see a lot more local stars in the nrl in 10 years time

This is what I came to post. If there is this much interest in facing Samoa surely there will be far more interest in Australia returning for the first time in god knows how long.
