Darius Boyd is not in Sam's league.

I disagree.

Boyd is a world class full back and has the skill set to prove it. He also does what he does against much better defences. Sam is awesome, and the things I mentioned earlier were world class, but the breaks he made in the 1st place to be in a position to do those things were due to a touch and pass style D from the Bulls.

Hey, I know you are very pro UK and good on ya, but if you step back, take emotion and affinity out of things you will see more clearly. Too many people on these forums say stuff with their heart instead of their head.

It's like on Friday in the WCC. I have heard people say it was one of the best games they have seen and how well Leeds played! Im a Leeds fan and I thought it was a pretty average game of footy. Too many penalties, mistakes and the intensity kept dying off. In fact, for large portions of the 1st half I was bored and kept looking at the clock. I have just watched the Charity Shield and I think both Souths and Saints would have beaten Leeds and Manly looking at the performances.

I'm not that pro-UK compared to most of the British posters on here. I just don't like it when people overstate the abilities of Australians and seem to be in awe of everything they do. It's something that has plagued the British game for years and is reflected in the national team as well. Boyd is an excellent player but he couldn't do a lot of the things that Tomkins can. FWIW I rate Hayne as a better FB than Boyd, and on roughly the same level as Tomkins. And I also wasn't too enamoured with the WCC, I don't really have that much interest in it to begin with. Like I said, all the hype around that can probably again trace back to the bizarre fear/awe of Australians that has been in the British game for decades.

I'd rate Tomkins as the second best fullback in the world, and Boyd wouldn't be third.

Brilliant final scramble from Catalan to secure the draw, sideline conversion for Dureau to win. Absolutely incredible, 26-8 St Helens led, lost 34-32.

What a come back.

Imagine how good Catalans will be if they turn up in the first half one day. Fantastic game.

ASTONISHING, that was absolutely amazing.

Also, that try by Tommy Makinson where he picked the ball up off his toes was sublime, i hope it gets the kudos it deserves.

I thought the St Helens try in the playoffs v Bradford about 10 years ago (wide to west) was the most amazing finish i have seen but i think the Catalan try is right up there for drama.

I still can't believe that. Catalans currently trending on Twitter in the UK. I might watch the replay of the game later.

When that intercept was thrown I thought it was game over with under 10 to go and 8 behind, but they kept coming

Just read the report. Wow! All I can say. And then Dureau pops it over from touch to win. Unbelievable. After being down by 18 as well. Bravo Catalans.

Also, looks a nice stadium that new Saints joint.

Hull-Salford sounded a decent contest too.

Really happy for Salford, apparently Peter Gentle the Hull FC coach all week spoke about how he would give a couple of youngsters a chance but he crapped himself and only played 15 of his 17 players.
